I bought mine cheap (£11k) but new it needed 1x EGT sensor.
I took it to MRC (Nr Oxford) and had that replaced along with the MAF and DVs, health check, turbo boost pressure check, new air filter for c£600.

Well worth the money.

Could also try Unit 20 in Merseyside...

JJB Motors in York know their way around the S4 and RS4 - just done a fair bit of work on my RS4 and would recommend them.

I can also recommend MRC - Banbury is only 25 miles further away than York...

Don't bother trying to source or pay (huge) amounts of money for the rear speaker. Replace the lot. Easy enough to do and you can get some good deals. This is when I did mine: http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... highlight=

Only gotcha with the door panel is the hidden screw behing the grab handle - take the plastic insert out of the handle and its directly behind there. Undo the two side screws, and lift up and out.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but job done already! I sourced a replacement rear bose from someone breaking an S4 and paid £30 delivered. Didn't have any problems with the swapover, it only took 5mins and i'm much happier now. I have a kenwood DNX5220BT and it sounds pretty good.

To be honest though, if i had known i could have got decent aftermarket 2ohm speakers i would have installed new. I will know what to do next time one of them go.

Thanks again.

Take it to AVPerformance in Burton On Trent. Very very pleased with the service there, had my gearbox in an out the car and a full service done, and changed my lambdas free of charge with all genuine parts! Really knowledgeable (Ex Audi master tech) and have seen many a RS4 in, on my last visit was doing work on an RS 6, fixing some boost leaks etc...
Not too far from Chesterfield, you won't be disappointed.
