Thinking of changing my wheels...

Post by GardinerG » Wed Mar 31, 2010 12:58 am

I'm about to spend some money getting the MTM's refurbed but am thinking about getting some BBS (or other light wheels) instead.

I did look at the Dymags (not sure I could convince the Mrs to let me spend £5k on another set of wheels though!), but I keep reading that they are/went out of business and that the carbon rims are prone to cracking. i love the weight of these though...

I do love the MTMs but I'm looking for a sub 10kg wheel that fits the RS6 without looking chavy.

Pics and info very much appreciated.

Does anyone have any pics of the BBS CX-R fitted to an RS-6? I think they are about 12kg though for the 19"s.

CheeRS!

Grant

They are smart wheels. The silver one's look like thay have more of a 'dish' to them due to the colour.
It's easier to visualise the black ones on the car cause they are the same colour as your mtm's.
You could do with someone doing a photoshop jobby
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

I like the black ones....

Are they the same dimensions / offsets as the MTM's ?
I need to decide what to do with my MTM's as well - refurb or just go for something else which is a bit lighter and maybe even a little less prone to buckling when they spot a pothole in the road.

I am loving those wheels. Would be great to see them on an RS6.

What is the ballpark retail cost for them?

I'm thinking the black is OTT though, from the pics I've seen on the net fitted to other cars.

£1600 I think for the rims, £800 for tyres + TPMS if you need them.

Not really feeling them in black, from a distance it makes them look like 7 spoke alloys they look good OK in silver.
