RE: anyone been up against a 997 carrera 4s?
Got into a 'light-hearted' tussle with a Carrera on the A3 a few months back and did manage to pull out a bit of an advantage in 4th when the power kicked in, may not happen every time but the fact that an A4 estate will usually hold its own even after 10 years still flags up with the average 'sports car' driver just how quick our cars are and if they even have an inkling of what they're letting themselves in for, they should exercise caution- as you guys are saying, it's impossible to gauge what level of tune the RS may be in...... risk of serious embarrassment beckons if they're trying to show off against even a Stage 1 re-map. The Chertsey RR day in November saw even a standard RS4 making its power and more and the mapped ones were seriously over book in my opinion, owners had absolutely no idea how healthy they were!
Cheers

My uncle has a 997 c4s tiptronic 55 plate... my 4 is only running a 430bhp SKN re-map at the mo, required a full service at the time so it prob wasn't at its healthiest either, and we ran it on a hot summers day.
We roll started from around 30mph.. everytime the boost kicked in, he just shrunk more and more into the distance!
I really wasn't even being brutal with the gearchanges or changing up late!
There really is no substitute for forced induction

You should be able to at least keep, up I've had 911s and they are surprisingly torquey but I've easily kept up with 911 4s in my old 320 bhp s4 and can wave bye bye to them now I have a 460 bhp rs4! Maybe his was modified btw? Si
