B6 S4 badge removal

Post by BillTheButcher » Wed Mar 10, 2010 5:26 pm

Hello. :)

How are the front grille and rear S4 badges attached on the B6 S4? I'm guessing glue for the rear badge but is the one on the grille secured by pins through a backplate?

TIA. :D

I am unsure why you would want to remove the badges. The S4 must be the ultimate 'Q' car anyway. Most people don't know what they are capable of or even what they are, and they are soooo less common than the M3.

Unless you are trying to make a 'QQ' car, or try to pass it off as a TDi to get the lower tax bracket, most people will not know what has hit them until they are well and truly spanked.

The S4 doesn't shout quick like the M3, that one of it's great appeals to me!

I'm not trying to pass it off as a TDI.

I don't like external badging on cars. I don't think it adds anything positive to the look of a car at all, in fact quite the opposite. The only purpose it serves IMO is to announce to everyone else what you're driving. I don't care about that or status symbols in general so I prefer to debadge my cars. :)

for the rear badge, it's glue - a bit of fishing line run down behing the badge on a warm day is good enough :)

I tend to de-badge my cars for the same reason as you, usually heating the badge with a haidryer for 5 minutes is enough to warm the glue enough to allow easy removal

Bill,

I noticed that you have your R32 for sale. How does the your S4 compare to your R32?

I must admit that I like the mk4 R32 and was tempted to get one, but I didn't think it had as much room as the S4.

Must say that your five door R32 is in lovely condition and a very clean and well cared for example.

I know I have gone off topic a bit, but good luck with the sale.
