Actually, all asbestos is harmful.

Blue asbestos is also harmful and so is white asbestos if inhaled in sufficient quantity. Therefore all asbestos is harmful.

Asbestos is a fantastic insulating material, and is only not used now in products due to the effects on health.

There is no problem using asbestos products even today if discovered, unless the material is fiable/unstable. The products needs to be removed by a licensed contractor (unless it's white asbestos), and taken to a licensed site as hazardous waste material.

If removing asbestos it should be sprayed with a sealant and placed in as large a piece as possible into sealable bags, thereby limiting the amount of material that becomes airborne. Cutting the material should be avoided at all costs, due to the risk of material becoming airborne and inhaled, which is where the harm to life affects most.

Affects the lungs in a similar way that coal dust affected miners.

and ACTUALLY, none of it is bad, if handled and contained properly, enclosed, and undisturbed...

it's like saying electricity is BAD, it's OK as long as it stays in the wires and out of you, lol

I know it to be fact, but for what it's worth still think he's the one that lost out...
no, I don't, and still don't...but 've been wrong before ;) nd am sure I will be again...

people want Audi's head on a pike, we'll see what their response is...
we are only getting 1/2 of the story, which on the internet mens 1/4 of less than 0, lol

can't hurt
I read the above mentioned thread for the 1st time today. It's really quite shocking. Arthur you are not helping Audi, you are making it so much worse.

No-one across here in Blighty (and you have really been very derogatory about us because you know this is not a moderated forum) wants Audi's head. Quite the contrary, we want our RS's to be the best.

We are Audi fans, on an Audi forum, expressing our sincere opinions based on our knowledge & experience.

Why is this UK forum for important to you, do you not have US forums you can express your views on?

And I am not convinced you are don't have a commercial relationship with Audi - since you have a hotline to the Audi VP, how about getting him to post on here (or you get a letter from on an Audi NA letter head and you post it here - I know letter heads impress you much) to confirm you have no commercial relationship with Audi NA directly or indirectly. That should be easy for you to arrange if you come into this debate with clean hands.

ArthurPe, I am sure you are well meaning person but your approach and arguments are not convincing anyone. In your own words "but 've been wrong before ;) nd am sure I will be again...".

So finally you make contact with Audi UK & Audi Germany - wow. What kept you all this time this debate has been going on? And do you undertake, in a spirit of transparency, to put all the correspondence on this forum?

sims, with the greatest of respect to you and I hate to say it; but if you are bothered about Arthur's intergrity your exacerbating of this thread doesn't hold you in any better light. 22 pages later and this is still nowhere. Words are great, scare mongering at worst, but until someone does as is desciribed and bench dyno their engine with these carbon deposits and shows a power drop and then challenges Audi with this evidence this discussion will be no more than that, discussion.

In the meantime this type of thread makes more people nervous about buying on RS4 than it is useful.

Suffice to say after this thread and many others like it on other forums as can be seen and have been copied into this one no one is nearer to actually proving carbonisation causes power loss and why it happens.

Enjoy your car for what it is, if you are not happy and doubt its ability you have a choice, sell it. Unless you have the money to initiate a class action against Audi about overstating power of being professional negligent as a retailer of automobiles leave it e until concrete evidence comes to light.

Do you think Arthur's stance has changed in recent weeks? I have read all his posts and I hope you have too.

Unlike few others, I am a RS2, RS4 & a RS6 owner. And probably will end up buying an RS5 for it offers so much more. I do enjoy my car, as RS6 owners enjoy their cars but were concerned about DRC, and rightly too. I have had all 4 shocks changed on my car, or was that my imagination? We all need to work from within to solve any issue, and not to brush it away.

No-one wanting to buy an RS4 is put off by these discussions as the rapid sales of these cars shows (People are buying Greek bonds regardless of what they hear!!).

They are all taking a view, as you should and keep your own counsel if you have said all you want to.

You have promised to raise this at the Audi visit, have you not?

What does VdT stands for?

This thread has gone further forward than you want to believe for good reason. Now if Audi Germany were to come on to this forum, and say there is absolutely no problem and explain the rationale, then this and other threads will close rather quickly. And I will be delighted and spend more of my time than I have already saying how wonderful the RS5 promises to be. :)

It's a fair debate, close it down here and it moves elsewhere. Would you prefer that, or you could just ignore this thread?

It will get locked if people who have used foul language, on this and previous threads, carry on doing so.

Read what JR has said on this, twice now.

you are the one who is anti-American
I don't care what you think, and I'm sure it is reciprocated...
and who said I wanted to 'help udi'? I seek the thruth, and will present facts while others present conjecture...

why here? for the most part, until certain parties came on the scene, it was a civil place...and when googled and researching the car, was one of the first to pop up...

apparently it is convincing some, read the posts...but they must be stupid if they agree with me (and the physics), not to mention the quantitative data...

now what you have above is vieled attacks and insults, why?
not to mention demeaning and condescending
but it's cool, you can't help it...

I'm sure the VP has more to do than entertain mine and yours whims...
the forum is moderated, I've communicated with them
just becasue you don't like what I post doesn't make it wrong, you are not the arbitrator...so just let it go...

I'm sure you are quite familiar with that saying
if you say no, you are a liar
if you say yes, you are like the rest of us....
