RS5 in Geneva

Post by Mahyar » Wed Mar 03, 2010 6:08 pm

Maybe it was the colour, but am not sure this is a real RS. Did not even have a flat bottom wheel. The RS6 looked good, RSTT is nither here nor there and the R8 V10 is not an Audi. Just my thoughts.

No engine shots then? Im having second thoughts about the Ali fenders.

Daytona or Black would prob be the better colour imho

The front fender is awful! Is the silver finish optional or mandatory?

Sonny - I've seen a pic of the engine in my local Audi dealer, they had a photocopied press release with a pic of it. It looks just as your own engine bay does with the exception of an intake feed/box on each side.

I was interested to see how the throttle body/plenum chamber compared to ours. are the air boxes bigger than our, or did they remain the same size, out of interest?

Optional I hope, as some of the early pics showed the parts that are silver as red.

They really screwed up the look to showcase the car imo. Wrong colour paintwork, trim and horrible wheels.

As was press day, could not get into the engin bay. Do not know why, Swiss, Audi, whatever. They could not even give me a price. Think the colour was bad on the RS5, check this out.

From the Geneva pics I've seen elsewhere, the car looks a bit "bloated" - none of that taut muscularity we've come to expect from past RSs. Maybe the colour's not doing it any favours.

Also, that chrome trim does look a bit "bling" - black optics, anyone? The brochure pics show this as colour-coded.

That silver front lip spoiler is horrid! Looks like a normal A5 with added bling which generally isn't a good thing......
