Technically, red is lowest (visible) colour on the electromagnetic spectrum

Interesting about the doppler effect. I thought Dave was having a laugh, but effectively the faster an object goes away from you, the redder it gets.

AFAIK the Doppler effect will be the same under water...Unless its underwater...
