FECK

I've just ordered a retrofit carbon fibre trim at a not inconsiderable cost. I also asked about a retro fit push button start and was told that this is not possible via factory.
I placed the order and deposit two days ago....dam.
It is one of those optional extras that didn't hit my radar at the time I purchased the car.

Is it too late?

Whats easy is it to fit?
How easy is it to pop the old one out, and is there much wiring to do?

Its plug and play.
Pop out the leather gear gaitor from the left hand side, push the old switch up from underneath, replace with new one.

Job done!

Retrofitting Keyless is possible but its a major job with a big list of things to change:
- 4 new external door handles with integrated lock switches,
- 3 new keyless aerials in the centre console and boot and rear passenger footwell
- new ignition switch
- Control unit behind glove box
- New centre console housing, with starter button
plus all the wiring and looms involved...

Suppose you could order the centre console part and have just the button working seperately with the starter but you would need to have access to the wiring diagrams for the starter system.

I do love the keyless ignition.

It's really nice not to have to rummage through your pockets to find the keys.
It's one of the options I'm happier about.

When you say "pop out" is it a case of grabbling the gaiter and pulling it up/out? or more surgical, don't want to go in all guns blazing and damage anything

The official workshop method is to remove the climate panel, and then the ashtray to get to the switch from behind the centre console.

But popping the gaiter is easier
