Happy Birthday to me

Post by gmk666 » Sat Jan 16, 2010 7:10 pm

I turned 40 last week.

So I've just done what every self-respecting male should do under these circumstances - I've put down a deposit on a car with a 580hp V10 under the bonnet.

I pick it up next Saturday. (9,600 minutes and counting...)

I'll spare you all the full spec details for the moment, but here's a snap to be going on with.

(PS, James - if you're reading this, it's all your fault. The incredulous look you gave me when I said I was thinking about an S4 was the tipping point. Thanks, mate. )

Happy birthday and what a splendid 40th birthday present she is too.

She looks stunning in Daytona too!

Thanks. And you're not at all biased of course.
Daytona will officially take over from Phantom Black as the fastest colour next Saturday.

Gav, that's what mates are for, I just thought you'd maybe overdosed on Benylin or something when we met and you told me about the S4. I somehow knew you would come to your senses.

Welcome to the V10 club, you'll be having lots of fun.

Get it booked in for a pair of Millys before the remap.

Happy birthday .....enjoy :beerchug:

That all depends whether I've been bankrupted by the RS6's petrol bill by then.

In Italy the let you buy an RS6 only if you have your own oil well

I'm in my twentys and in the c6 v10 club, I worry about what I'm going to tell myself I 'need' in my thirtys!

Anyway, happy birthday and great choice of car, colour and windows. I have the same with black oval tipped millys, they look ace with this colour combo!

Ha ha. I think I remember back to my thirtieth. My 'present' to myself back then was a Boxster (when I didn't need rear seats and room for a pram...).

Give me a few months before the Millteks. The RS6 is a lot quieter than my standard RS4, but I think I'll cope for a while.

You bet. I'm starting to go through the changing car ritual already. Emptied the RS4's CD changer and glovebox last night. I've also arranged insurance cover for Saturday (can't believe it only costs about £100 PA more than the 4). More importantly, I changed my rs246 bookmark to this forum this morning.

I'll suggest a weekend trip down to SW4 very soon. I'm sure the ladies will find something to talk about while we sit outside comparing exhaust notes.

:D
