For Sale - Porsche Cayenne Front brake setup for B5

Post by stumpyrs4 » Sat Dec 05, 2009 3:11 pm

Am seeing if there's any interest.

I'm considering selling the Porsche setup only recently installed on my B5 RS4, comprising:

Brand new (maybe 500miles old) B5 RS4 front discs, machined down to 355mm dia. (Cost £425)
Excellent condition Porsche Cayenne Turbo (silver) front calipers c/w pads with c75% left - Calipers are machined so offsets match with RS4 discs (Cost £440)
Plus locking bolts.

Would sell complete for £800, collected or postage on top (would imagine postage to be c£50 due to weight).

If any interest, PM me.
Not desperate to sell but another setup has come up so might swap over...

On your advert you mention that the discs have been machined down to 355mm. Are the calipers radially mounted and if so is it just the innner diameter of the wheel that is restricting disc size...OR put another way, with bigger wheels can you increase the disc size on your set up ?

Thanks

Ooooohhhhh. A bit technical for me!

The calipers (being Porsche) offset does not line up with the discs, so approx 3-4mm has to be machined off the caliper mounting points, so they line up with the discs, ok?

The calipers themselves can only accomodate discs of between 350-355mm dia.
I don't think the wheel size has anything to do with the size of the disc on these calipers, you physically cannot fit in a larger disc.

That answer your question??

Can't believe your selling these, after you went through!

Is it the B7 setup your considering?

It is the B7 setup yes...

I'm not overly worried about selling this Porker setup, but know the B7 retup is slightly better and it is available at a good price. If I don't get a good offer (or any!) on mine, then am quite content to keep them as is.

Was planning on getting braided hoses in the new year too, along with a 5.1 oil change.

After all you went through to get these right...

You mention that you are getting the B7 set-up at a good price - Are you getting these new and can you share your source?

I'm also thinking of doing this, probably in the new year?

Stumpy, I went down the B7 brake route and had the guys from HEL make up a set up SS braided lines based on my B7 OEM ones. Hola out if you would like the contact details and/or pics of the SS braided lines.

Dave Terner-Swift at Brakes International (dts@brakesint.co.uk). Used my lines as a template, built and posted them same day. Very professional service and VERY good value for money.

Could you PM me the cost, unless you're happy to post here?
Appreciate the cost to you was probably for free (!), but did he mention the RRP ?
