rs6 genuine wheels?

Post by Toady » Sat Nov 21, 2009 11:50 am

Should the wheels be marked with an audi stamp and part number on the inside? Can anyone tell if these are genuine or will you not tell without looking on the inside for a stamp/part number? does anyone have a pic of said id if there is any?? thanks in advance!

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1345744.htm

I am thinking of buying them to fit to my B6 S4. If they are genuine will they fit ok?

The wheels look good quality and if the wheels are replicas then the "audi rings" centre cap could be a genuine part - but to be honest in the photos there is no way to verify this unless you get the part numbers off the seller. You could check these with your local Audi dealer or maybe one of the guys on here has the wheels off their car so they can compare.

WHat is certain though is the tyres are not the correct size for an RS6 (255)

The tyre width is more like what you would get on an A4 or S4. (235)

Also I was under the impression that the offset of an RS4 / S6 / RS6 alloy would make it unsuitable for a B6 as the B6 did not have the wider arches...

It may well be that the wheels are replicas to suit the A4 offset, and if that's how they turn out then they could be suitable for you.

cheers, he said he had them on an a6.

So they won't fit under the S4's arches then if they are the std et35?

Hmm.

I used to have a B6 S4 Avant and having been employed at Audi for nearly 7 years I know Audi never offered that style of wheel in 19" for the A4 / S4 model. They did that style wheel in 18"...

The MTM website lists their 8.5J x 19" rim for the B6 S4 as an ET35...

http://www.mtm-online.de/en/Audi/S4-B6/ ... D=S4B6253Q

I'm suspecting they are replica alloys now and if they are indeed 8.5J x 19" ET35 they should fit your S4.

The Genuine RS6 wheels would have been ET30.

Essentially we are still needing the part numbers from the seller - the reverse side of the wheel rims should show the width, diameter, PCD and offset...

I'll be honest and say that I don't know.

The MTM website says ET30 for their bimotos, so I ASSUMED the OEM wheels would be too...

I'm too lazy to jack mine up and remove a wheel!

Yeah. Ive just checked and they are ET35. I think the BiMotos would be 30's because they have a flat face, unlike the RS6's that are slightly dished / concave. The lower the ET the further the centre sticks out from the hub.

Actually that makes sense.

To Toady, sorry for talking b******s then.

Where does that leave us on the alloys? If they are ET 35 will they fit his S4?

Like i said. Yes they will fit if the PCD on an S4 is 112mm. Its whether or not they stick out from the arches or not that matters. You can try one to be sure, or ask someone who has them / or tried to have them fitted. There must be someone on the S4 forum who has them or tried it. Put a thread up on there.
