K&N are an oil based filter and can damage the MAF's.
MRC do their own filters or ITG items from Grizz are all good.

The ITG filters are also oil based, are they not?

Does anyone have any experience of uprated air filters for the RS6?

I fitted itg filters got them from Grizz you are right though you do need to oil them though they will last a life time i have heard that the K&N are not suited to the RS6 unless someone knows different.

Grizz's website is listed below.
http://www.unit20.org/
I'm not too sure about oversees postage, but there's no harm in asking!
We've got a postal strike on at the moment though, so not sure how long it'll take to get stuff to you ;-)

If both the K&N and ITG need oil, then what is the reason for not recommending the K&N?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Also do the MTM and MRC versions need oil? They look suspiciously like the K&N / ITG versions.

Why aren't these filters OEM if they're so good?

I mean, how can you not recommend a filter because it needs oil and then recommend one that needs oil...Image

Aftermarket Air filters are a con.
For the 0.5bhp you are going to gain from doing this mod, and the contamination you're going to cause the MAF's, its best to stick with the OEM paper ones ;)
