Nasty noise developed

Post by mip » Fri Oct 23, 2009 2:16 pm

Folks,

Not sure where to start with this.

My car went in for its 20K service. Whilst they had the car they serviced the AC and replaced the brake fluid and replaced 2 of the front shocks as they were leaking.

Since I got the car back I have noticed a nasty new noise. It has been back to Audi but I think they are head scratching their heads as they just gave it back to me unfixed.

It happens most often at idle
clutch engaged or no feet on the pedals

It is a nasty resonant buzz... BBBbBbRRRRRRR

You can feel it through the pedals...

They assure me its not going to go bang... and have offered me a car for a week while they investigate.

Thoughts ?
Cheers

Take the car they're offering! But make that car's an RS6! lol.

Leave it with them until they sort it. It's not worth driving while you're not happy with it. Esp as at the moment they appear to be accepting that it's not a noise that was there before they had it!

Hello, Simillar thing happened to me when I had my S3. They didnt gas the A/C correctly and it made a similar noise to what you describe. Try grabbing one of the A/C pipes and see if the noise goes away. They some times disturb the seating position of the pipes when connecting the Air Con gas machine and the pipe may have moved up againt the bulkhead or pannel of the car.
