RS4 what do you think??
RE: Re: RE: RS4 what do you think??
I sold up my mint 01y with 67k and 470bhp nav millek etc etc some months ago for £16k,easto sold up for £15.5k with 70k recently, these are the real figures you should be taking onboard,re nick j cars hasnt that 49k black one been up for sale for way over 6 months? I wouldnt concern yourself with the figures he markets them for as its 3-4k over there real value in terms of private sale, the 02 plate looks nice and it would be really nice to get one of the youngest ones available but if you buy it at anywere near that money and start tuning you might aswell have got a b7 which are in higher demand at the minute, the gumpert car recently sold looked a very good possible purchase with a little haggle i thought you would of bought it?
Re: RE: Re: RE: RS4 what do you think??
I'd rather buy private, due to having some bad experiences with traders/dealers in the past, as for colour i'd love a misano red, but i have had an avus s3 and i'd be more than happy with and avus rs4! both suit the car well.juice wrote:No offence contigo, but we all know dealers are there to make money... bargains can be had from them at times, but other times they price them well over which is why they have them advertised for a while and sometimes have them for months, YES i understand its a buyers market and people will pay for what a car is worth, but never ever would i buy from a trader purely because they wont negotiate as much as a private seller, also the fact that they buy these cars cheaper or take them in on a cheaper p/x and then sell them for more.
Also you say the one from dealer is priced right? - how so if a similar spec sold for 15kish??? with a spare set of B7 wheels...
Hektor. - my advice (which some may disagree) - buy privatley and buy from an enthusiast who has looked after the car.
there are some crap examples out there with problems that wont be so obvious to the eye but once on a health check could become expensive.
what colour are you after?. is it only misano red your after??
that avus one on PH that your considering with 446hp was for sale last yr sometime - i know as i was also interested init, i still have a copy of the dyno slip that the owner sent me, if your intereted pm your email add and ill send you the graph.
do you want to buy one to modify or would you rahter buy one moded up?? (you will save a packet)
To be honest i'd rather a car which has already had choice mods done, exhaust, remap maybe brakes and suspension etc it would save me the money and effort of doing it myself and the fact i stay in glasgow where there seem to be no audi specialists near by.
As for the avus rs4 im interested in that due to its mods and mileage and the fact it is priced around my budget, so if you have any details with regards to it i'd appreciate it.
Re: RE: Re: RE: RS4 what do you think??
lengster i should have found the extra money and bought your car, i knew that at the time but could'nt find the money and then you sold it soon after, as for the car you are talking about, i dont think i knew about it, as for easto's well thats another one which i never seen till it was to late, i suppose im not very good at this searching for an rs4 thing.lengster1 wrote:I sold up my mint 01y with 67k and 470bhp nav millek etc etc some months ago for £16k,easto sold up for £15.5k with 70k recently, these are the real figures you should be taking onboard,re nick j cars hasnt that 49k black one been up for sale for way over 6 months? I recognise the Avus one too if the reg is Y46***
It was advertised too around spring time in Biggin Hill area.
I think it was in Audi Driver mag in 05 ish when they did a feature on West Tuning, I recall pic of Neil Birkitt in passenger seat as it rounded a corner at Thruxton
As for buying privately vs dealer, I expressed my PERSONAL OPINION using my experience in the motor trade on this on audisrs.com a few months ago so wont go into it here again - all I can says is there are some good and bad both privately and with dealers, get an inspection and you will be able to sift through.

But buying from a dealer commands a premium, it always has and always will unless you get lucky and find a bargain.lengster1 wrote:I sold up my mint 01y with 67k and 470bhp nav millek etc etc some months ago for £16k,easto sold up for £15.5k with 70k recently, these are the real figures you should be taking onboard,re nick j cars hasnt that 49k black one been up for sale for way over 6 months? Paying 4K over from a dealer is about right for this sort of car. The black one has been there for a while but he's since sold three or four other cars with under 45K on them and shifted them quickly. I'm not disputing that you got the right price for your car but to say that 19K is over priced for a car like this from a dealer is wrong imo.

The indie's do inspections of the important stuff for c£75. Well worth the money. They don't check bodywork, just engine/mechanicals generally...

would you rather pay 4K more for a car OR would you rather have 4K in your pocket to spend tuning/moding the car or even on other things for your family.
just my 2 cents really.
yes i understand that some members/owners have low mileage cars and dont want to value their cars as less as they bought them for more, But its a buyers market, people are willing to pay what a car is worth however prices have to be realistic.

I went to a dealer for a bit more piece of mind. I'm not saying that it can always be a guarantee but at least you have some comeback if something is broken in the first couple of weeks. There are so many bent motors out there and the history of these cars can be quite scary.
I would rather spend a few K more, gat a warranty on it and deal with someone who knows a bit about these (specialist).
If people want to sell their motors at a low price then it's entirely up to them, I'm not letting mine go for peanuts, there will be abuyer out there it's just a matter of time, I'd say this red motor will be gone by the end of the month.

Yep, it was mine, I've PM'd HEKTOR with a good rundown of the car, its pretty much as above.. A very nice car, still miss it!! It looks soooo nice in the flesh... One of the only '02's I ever saw!neckarsulm wrote:I have checked my database and I suspect that red one was on Pistonheads in Feb 09
It's reg was F*02 *** and it had been lowered and had tints and short shift as in the advert - I wondered if it had been a pace car at Donington Park as the reg was right for the area and it would explain the late reg (unregistered while used on track) BUT THIS IS PURE SPECULATION ON MY BEHALF.
It had a scuff on the nearside rear wheel arch which put me off a bit plus it was too low (my first RS4 used to always ground its Milltek even on stock springs) but it seemed cheap at around £17k I seem to recall - he also advertised it on www.audisrs.com.
Here's some of my email from the owner;
"I bought it from DAP specialist cars in Chesire 16/11/07 for £24,995 8-|
It has 41k on the clock. Not 100% sure on suspension as the garage said was all done @ MTM (susp, shortshift and possible remap), however the prev. owner didnt have paperwork.
Last 4 digits are 5777, let me know what you find on that, Car was 1st registered 18/06/02 !
The windows are standard tints, but yes, at back its def. darker than clear"

Welcome 911TT
Paying a premium from a dealer can be worth it but unbiased inside info from a recent owner can be worth more and is FOC
AA do an inspection for 200 quid and they measure the paint depth but don't VAG COM
