Car feels slow... Oh no, it *is* slow!
RE: Re: Car feels slow... Oh no, it *is* slow!
Right. After changing my plugs. I'm getting fairly consistently:
0-60: 5.3s
30-70: 4.2s
What are your thoughts on those figures?

RE: Re: Car feels slow... Oh no, it *is* slow!
When I tried 0-60 times with a GTech Pro, I usually got 5.5ish, once managing 4.8. It just felt like I could never get off the line sharply enough due to the autobox.
RE: Re: Car feels slow... Oh no, it *is* slow!
In my case it wasn't that long after it'd been on a rolling road, showing a healthy output. I don't get why a car would do this anyway - learn how you drive and then turn the power down accordingly. Surely if that's the way I drive, then I don't need it to do that?
RE: Re: Car feels slow... Oh no, it *is* slow!
Andy, I agree. I disconnected the battery and it made no difference. I didn't really think it would.
It definitely feels like the box slowing things down. Maybe it's limiting the torque in 1st. I don't really care about 0-60 times, I just wanted to use the number as a benchmark to test the health of my car.
I wondered for a while if the g-tech was accurate or not, but the runs I did last night were with the g-tech and vagcom in parallel with the g-tech speed marker set at 70mph as well as the RS6 speed warning at 70. Both went off at the same time and the numbers are close.
Stigter, if it were the MAFS, wouldn't I be getting DTCs?
I would have thought a boost leak was more likely, but looks like the car is boosting correctly.

Maffs wont show a DTC.
Check block 032 , This will show any boost leaks.

RE: Re: Car feels slow... Oh no, it *is* slow!
Would it be a good idea to have a sticky which lists which area of VAGCOM can be checked for various things. I guess these are probably listed somewhere anyway, or a search on the RossTech website would give some pointers???
RE: Re: Car feels slow... Oh no, it *is* slow!
The ross-tech website is distressingly sparse in terms of information. Especially for the C5 A6. More stuff for the A4. It's very frustrating, and I rarely bother to even look at their wiki anymore.
The actual software is well done, however, and it simply takes a few moments to scan throught the different measuring blocks, all of which are labelled and explained dynamically.

My 30-70 times are around 3.6 3.7. If I recall correctly the times that EVO mag got were around 4.5s.Shoppinit wrote:Right. After changing my plugs. I'm getting fairly consistently:

If you can find a way to make stickies, I'll be interested to know!jd_hants wrote:Would it be a good idea to have a sticky which lists which area of VAGCOM can be checked for various things. Starting in 1st for the 30-70. I've tried S and tiptronic. No difference.
