can i just ask: has everyone with black optics done this or was blak an option from new??? I must admit i do actually like the chrome look. but black does give it that mean look. what about the wing mirror though - spray same as body colour???

Some pics with my new blackness! My wife reckoned it would look "chavvy" but I knew otherwise. Turns out she was wrong and admitted it!!

My B5 RS4 has the factory black optics pack, and I've also blacked out the chrome grill surround and front Audi rings. Looking at that exhaust, I might need to do that now.....lol

I`m wondering how nuch it will cost for a whell refurb and spray in titan grey??
I`m going to mask the hell out of the car when I get back from work and do the roof rails and strip along the boot. There is no way I`m going to even attempt the window surrounds as I`m not that confident with my masking abilities!!

I used electrician's tape on a car I had to see if I liked the dechromed effect before painting. Turns out the effect was so good with it that I left it. Nice mat black, completely reversible, and it lasted for years. Laugh it up, but then give it a try ;)

I'm having my silver ali trim sprayed ebony (colour coded to body) by a paint shop while it's in having some paint done. Will post pics when it's all done as I'm even colour coding all the plastic grills and fog surrounds too.
