How about the brakes? If a brake caliber (or one piston in the caliber) freezes on just a bit, creating an uneven force against the brake disc, thus creating a wobble.

And after a bit of use the calibers get up to "working temp" and the little freeze is gone and *tsadam* no wobble!

Hmmm, I have mine at 42 but am going to drop them. I wonder if your pressures are too low and the front tyres are getting flat spots...

wheel wobble around 70-80mph is a sign of buckled alloys. any probs balancing them??

Mine are 46 presently having had some heavy duty load lugging recently - but normally 40.

Grant have you found 42 specifically is better on handling but still OK on wear in the centres?

42 gives more even wear even with hard driving but is sooo hard (275/30), hence I want to lower the pressure.

yep, but surely it would always be the case rather than intermittent?

Sorry, been on hols for the week.

There were no probs balancing as far as i know. It was only done a couple of months ago. I might try upping my psi to 40 and see what happens. Got home off the plane last night after 10 days away and the wobble didnt show so im not sure what to make of it.

It did it before i had them rebalanced too. I think i'll pump the tyres up a bit and see how it goes.

Eddie, take it back and get them to check the balancing out. I had some feck wit do mine and it wasn't till a few days later that i discovered that over 90 it shoock like a little dog havin a <beep>.

I took it back and tld the fitter who denied all knowledge even tho he was commenting on my car and wanted to have a go... I persuaded him it was in his interest to re- do it for free, or otherewise he can explain to his boss why he was personally responsible for losing an account with 175 vehicles on it..... Funilly enough on the day that he first did it, the machine "must have had a fault" because they were completely out.
It's all Bollox.
Half of what you read is bull and the other half is all <beep>.

A customer of mine used to get bad wheel wobble when his wheels had a lot of dirt on the inside of the wheel rim..

This was on a C5 allroad, so similar.

Are your wheels clean on the inner rim?

Got it booked in for a rebalance on saturday so we shall see what happens. I have upped my psi's to 40 to see what effect it has. Anyone have a recomendation as far as tyre pressures go? They are Standard P Zero Rossos 255 / 35 / 19 btw
