Tell them to give you the original deal or you'll walk. They think they are in control at the moment - It is their fault you walked in the first place

On balance mate I think you should go for it. I bought my RS4 Avant last week, have been looking for ages and was lucky enought to get a bit of a bargain off Pistonheads. I very nearly bought another car from an Audi dealer for £6k more but I don't think I would have regretted it. Normally I would argue that you should let the dealer stew and push them but I genuinely think these things (Avants in particular) are selling like hot cakes. If you like the spec and are spending £30 odd K on a car a few hundred quid to get what you want is immaterial (i.e. in your case it sounds like the difference between tyres and an extended warranty isn't much). You only need to look at the overpiced dogs on Autotrader and the fact that the car is the Audi network barely get chance to have photos posted to know they are selling.

I was lucky in the sense I bought myself a bit of time by putting a deposit on a car at Audi just as a good one came up on PH which my Dad could go and see the next day. The guy who sold to me had loads of full price offers over the phone but just wanted to see the cash. I wriggled out of the Audi deposit and I am pretty sure you are protected by the sistance selling regs anyway - I might sound like a shyster but to be honest the sales-scrote at the dealership annoyed me with his pi$$poor attitude once I had put a depsoit on it.

Good luck!

Hi, I understand where you're coming from, I know the avant are a bit like gold dust, and I could risk losing it again.
But I guess this is a matter of principle, the dealer is going back on their words (by giving me a lesser deal)
Re tyres, if I shop hard enough, I might be able to get a full set for £5-600? An Audi warranty would cost me nearer £1600!

Was told by Audi dealer that come renewal type, cost would be 700 quid for Audi warranty. Don't know if this was a dealer "one off" but I wishing i had got it in writing - oh well.
My local dealer is the same as others - around the 1200 quid.

Is there a possible connection here? Could 'aarghesfore' be the same person who put the deposit on the car kN was looking at? Just a thought...

No UNI555 it wasn't me! Sounds like I did beat Kin to another car though...
