HI,had 4 in my RS4 (miltek&lowered suspension) on the way to watch Liverpool at anfield from London. 1 guy in his S5 behind us, we came off M1 big bend onto M6 , came out of bend up to 6th gear......Honestly I couldnt have told you the colour of the S5 from my rear view.

Guy saw us later on in traffic and gave us thumbs up.
Do like the S5 tho....RS5 willbe interesting......Bring back TURRRRRRBOOOS!!!

RS4 eater is a bit silly, but we pciked ours up on the first Monday they were delivered and when we passed an RS4 cab, who was waiting to come out of a petrol station the poor bloke must have got a case of whiplast as his snapped his head round to see what it was.

It would be strange if the RS4 wasn't faster than an S5 given the power difference. Its like saying the RS6 is quicker than the RS4 - course it is....what is surprising is how close it seems to be if the times were taken in similar conditions

And how can you compare a tuned S4 with a standard S5. Wouldn't a stage 2 S5 be a better comparison with a stage 2 S4 ?

Best time in my B7 RS4 is 13.0 @ 111mph.

The car will run very low 13's all day launching at 3000rpm.

It was the trap speed that surprised me bearing in mind trying to get the bloody thing off the line is a PITA because of the weak clutch. I could comfortably get into the 12's (he asserts) if I could get a good launch. That said I suppose thats a bit like saying I could run the 100m in 9.8secs if I could get off the line a bit faster....

Best 0-60 is 4.6 but if you check the RS4 forum, you will see owners have measured (using VAGCOM) times down to 4.2 for the same interval.

I think the RS4 would demonstrate a significant advantage over the S5 at the track though...

PS: I can keep up with my neighbours "old" RS6 short-shifting...

I'll hold judgment until the RS5 comes out.
