Certified dyno graph:
Certified dyno graph:
from a pure independent test agency, not a tuner...
done for auto, motor und sport...to CERTIFY to power
steady state test, not a ramped accel run...
345 Whp...NO correction
it all depends on the dyno, and the results desired by the operator...

RE: Certified dyno graph:
The RS4 has about 20-25% drivetrain loss, so adding 20%, that would be exactly 414 SAE HP.
That picture isnt very big though, I can't make out the numbers on the graph.
Any idea of mods?
Or the type of dyno used?

RE: Certified dyno graph:
another, compared to the R8, no correction

330 Whp....
dyno dynamics iirc

RE: Certified dyno graph:
Hmm, I don't see it saying WHP on there.
Do you know where this dyno was done??
NA or UK ?

Re: RE: Certified dyno graph:
it was a stock car, off the dealers floor, submitted by auto, motor und sport to verify Audis' claims...Lebult wrote:The RS4 has about 20-25% drivetrain loss, so adding 20%, that would be exactly 414 SAE HP.

it made 258 KW (345 HP) at the wheels...
this site is good http://www.rri.se/
all these guys do is certification dyno testing, that's their business...
Re: RE: Certified dyno graph:
it is uncorrected WHP, it was done at rototest, in SwedenLebult wrote:Hmm, I don't see it saying WHP on there.

Very cool. thanks.
RE: Re: RE: Certified dyno graph:
these white papers are very educational on dynos...losses, etc. http://www.rri.se/index.php?DN=30

here's another RS4 http://www.rri.se/popup/performancegrap ... artsID=281Lebult wrote:Very cool. thanks.
257 kW (349 PS / 345 bHP)
wheel, not corrected to crank
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Certified dyno graph:
Arthur,
please take a look at the s3... any explanation?

yep...it would appear to be significantly UNDER rated...it happens...AntoRS4 wrote:Arthur,

both S3's are about the same...it's impossible to have 0% loss, so the only logical assumption is that they are over rated...
335i, 6% in losses, only 4% torque http://www.rri.se/popup/performancegrap ... artsID=647
rumored to be under rated...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Certified dyno graph:
There is ~20hp difference between even their own tests on a 06 and 07 RS4...

actually 349 vs 333 ~4.8%SR71 wrote:There is ~20hp difference between even their own tests on a 06 and 07 RS4...
torque (which is what is actually measured) 277 vs 270, 2.6%
both are within 5%, which is about the repeatablity to expect...
I would call the whp on this dyno for an RS4 ~ 340...
the same as Automobile measured when comparing to an R8
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Certified dyno graph:
ArthurPE, the Rototest is a hub dyno, not a roller dyno, so please stop talking about whp on the Rototest, as it's power at the hubs, not at the wheels+tyres.
OMG the S3 is more than overrated, it has no drivetrain losses, I didn't know that was even possible, or then Audi really give everyone a lot of BHP for free, that's nice, why are tuners still in business? I really wonder...
Anyway, what are you trying to tell us? That Audi have made a perfect engine that makes 100% of its rated horsepower, is that right?

stock s3 270hp
stock rs4 from 350 to 390hp ( depends from valve deposits )
a5 3.Tdi 240hp/250hp ( same torsen as rs4 )
bmw335i 300/310hp
if the dyno has a good software and front/rear linked axles there is no way to loose measure precision, drivetrain losses are perfectly compensated.
take a look at our dynos http://www.cmdtec.com/index.asp
about sarcasm.. i prefer it to offences
