Well, first of all, I LOVE IT!
Great looks, beautiful colour, well built, well specced, seats are brilliant, ride is spot on, engine is awesome, Quattro is so sure-footed, boot space, can get the kids in, 0-100 in <beep> am I here already!
Well happy with the car.
In terms of comparing, it would be better to compare it with a normal C2 or C4 as they would be closer in spec. The GT3RS is quite different from a normal 911 in that it has no leather, no sat nav, cage, harness's, lightweight flywheel, KWV3 suspension.
The GT3RS is insanely fast in a straight line or on a track, the RS4 in the real world is quicker as it is more compliant over the bumps and has quattro, a 997 C4S would be a closer comparison to the RS4, but for the money the RS4 is a superb proposition.
If I could I would have both! GT3RS for track and sunday blasts, RS4 for everything else.
Only niggles so far on RS4, oil consumption, squeal from brakes and bloody useless Audi Service. Mind you Porsche are crap too! Must be a London affliction. Oh and satnav seems to prefer longer routes!

Cheers for the recommendations, I visited Watford on Bank Holiday Monday, didnt expect and service or techs there but took my neighbour down as he wants an S4, spoke to a spotty work experience boy on the front desk, he knew absolutely nothing, asked me to write my details on a pad of paper that had other customer names on, and guess what...........NO F@CKIN CALL
In addition my neighbour and I were all over the RS6 and various S4's in the showroom, not one person came over to see us, ask if we wanted help, he was "well if they don't want my business then shove em"
I find so many London based dealers are absolutely crap at service and sales, if I ran that dealership I would be livid!

It's not just London dealers, and it's not whole dealer groups.poon wrote:I find so many London based dealers are absolutely crap at service and sales, if I ran that dealership I would be livid!
I've always found Camberley Audi to be brilliant for sales, servicing and parts. But Basingstoke Audi are part of the same group (Colbornes) and are absolute cr*p - no interest, no returned phone calls, the usual story.
Southampton Audi aren't much better, when I collected my RS4 Avant back in July 2006 they had yet to even deliver one to a customer so when I parked it right by the showroom door the day after I collected it (to visit their parts department) you would have expected some interest to be shown but nothing.
Audi dealers are going the way that Alfa Romeo dealers used to be (and some still are) - great cars let down by rubbish dealers. Lexus understand the lesson that good dealers are the key to a good reputation.
For sales I would thoroughly recommend Harold Wood Audi on the A12 Southbound Colchester Road just after the M25 junction. I have bought my last 4 Audi's from there, excellent sales and after sales. Can't vouch for service as I hve bever really used them for the last five years for that.poon wrote:Cheers for the recommendations, I visited Watford on Bank Holiday Monday, didnt expect and service or techs there but took my neighbour down as he wants an S4, spoke to a spotty work experience boy on the front desk, he knew absolutely nothing, asked me to write my details on a pad of paper that had other customer names on, and guess what...........NO F@CKIN CALL

Not that it was aimed at me, but I did these 2 write ups on other forums that might give you some indication. Sorry if some of it is referring to other forums:SR71 wrote:poon
Now that you've had the car a while, give us a write-up on how it compares.
Any other ex/existing GT3 owners feel free to comment.
I'm curious...
Thanks.
RS4: 12 Months On
So then it’s been a year now, what do I really think of my RS4 I hear you ask? OK so no one asked, but I am bored and thought I’d share my observations following 12 months ownership and 20,000ish miles in my B7 RS4 super saloon. Most people will know that I have sometimes been less than complimentary about the car but if I am being serious for a moment, something I find increasingly difficult on web forums and look at it objectively, I feel it is an excellent car that does exactly what it says on the tin. That tin by the way says “go very fast in any weather, with no stress while cosseting its driver and making a nice noise and while consuming enough petrol to run Zaire and allowing the driver to play with the Sat Nav/iPod thingy!â€
Good right up, totally agree with you regarding the GT3 and in RS form even better. I still have it and am only selling as I grew weary after 2 years of a lack of seats for the 3 kids, it meant that whenever the wife went out I was stuck at home or had to walk everywhere. I was also fed up with fitting my golf clubs on the seat up right with the irons rubbing the headlining, my driver and woods posted in the rear behind the scaffolding, and my trolley in the footwell. I was also fed up with the banging and crashing everyday over the <beep> roads here in North London and the endless speed bumps.
I have stopped doing endless trackdays and the car is just too quick around everyday B roads. It is probably one of the best cars I will ever own and I really do not want to sell it, however all of the above combined with a sensible head with regards my mortgage, the recession and the desire to start my own business mean that it has to go.
I will one day own another or maybe a 360 Challenge Stradale, but in the meantime the RS4 is everything you have said.
Cheers
