anyone know this car - R5 AOF

Post by martink » Fri May 01, 2009 12:27 pm

im gonna take a look at this B5 RS4 over the weekend
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/951838.htm

just wondered if anyone knew of it. my mates mate works for an audi dealer and he checked the plate on their computer and it didnt bring up any history on the car so maybe its only a recent plate change or something.

woudl have been nice if it showed up a list of services and history at the dealers...
andyway if anyone knows anything about this car id appreciate it.

cheers

If the plate has been on the vehicle a while, then doing an HPI check or equivalent will show the history, RAC will do a check for £9.99 online.

I know it needs new rear discs and pads looking at the photo, only half the braking area is working, the wheels look re furbed with a little bubbling in the photo, not the end of the world as long as you factor it in when buying, sometimes you only get the service that the particular dealer has done,i dont think it goes on a general database but could be wrong

i couldn't get any history for mine from the main dealer system either due to the fact it was an import not one of the 400 uk cars, once i found out which dealer looked after it they were quite happy to answer any questions about any major work done or not done etc

aha! right that explains the R5 AOF plate...i assumed it woudl be spaced to look more like RS4 OF...
thanks for the info oliver. i'll maybe call you soon to discuss...
i drove it on monday and i was thourgherly impressed. only possible downside was a slightly notch change from 2nd to 3rd but ive since been told the boxes on these cars are not super slick and im sure its not a problem and would get better as i got used to the car.
