Daniel, go over to RS6.com ans speak to LU-rs6. he had exactly the same thing, it was a small knob of metal on the the suspension arm that was rubbing his tyre the same s yours. he ground it down by 2mm it all was fine.
It's all Bollox.

Finally got round to checking mine today and, as expected, no rubbing.Spacecowboy wrote:hey mo !
where are the news ?![]()
I`am nervous !
But don't forget Daniel, we both have coilovers and from the pics of yours in the snow, looks like yours is slightly lower than mine. I think you'd either have to raise it up a bit or fit the same tyres you had previously (or the equivalent thereof).

When I get some time next week, I'll take some photos from the side just to see where my wheels are in relation to the arches (side profile, tops of wheels). If you could do the same then we can compare like-for-like. Then we can try to eliminate whether or not height is the issue.Spacecowboy wrote:this are equivalent for that !
how much space do you have ???
Cheers,
Mo.

The way the tyre sits has no connection to the height of the car in relation to the hub.

I think I understand why height isn't an issue because of where it is rubbing in this pic:

I cannot see any reason therefore other than either as Cornishmoocher or Grizz describes above (i.e. metal knob or tyre size).
Logically, why would there be a special code for the fitment of tyres if there indeed wasn't an issue with clearance! It means therefore that fitting any tyre to this car other than that recommended by way of the special code is entirely at ones own risk. So in other words, I've been bloody lucky!!
