WANTED RS4 B5

Post by SPOONMAN » Tue Mar 03, 2009 5:09 pm

Hello
Sold my Noble (too unreliable) got an Elise, then sold (too small and underpowered). Now looking for an RS4 avant. Have lost a lot of money in the past year on cars but always took a little satisfaction in knowing that I would get a good deal on purchase. Having looked at the RS4 market for a few months I am hoping to get a good, non abused example, with sub 60k miles for sub 15k.
I know the pain of timewasters, as i seemed to attract most of them when selling my Noble, so I wont mess anyone around.
Im a private buyer and car enthusiast and this time the car will stay with me for a long time Im sure.
Happy motoring
Andy

Missed out on one with 58k for 15k in December as couldn't sell the Elise. If you've got to sell you've got to take a hit at the moment - Learnt that the hard way.

Best he can hope for is possibly a good one from an unknown (ie not a forum member):

One about to end, was at £16.5k (reserve not met) with 27min left when I posted this:

I recognise B11 BHP.
It was a Scotsman from this forum, it sold for big money around 18 months ago, was sub 20k then so looks genuine.
Found this thread - looks like serious bargain if <£20k for someone who wants a tweaked example.

Funnily enough the green one is Scottish too

Yeah, it was RS4 Barry. Had some of the work done by QST but didn't produce the power he was assured it would (no surprise there then!). Star Performance done some more work to it to make the 560Hp.
I was never in it but Jim @ Star said it was absolutely insane on the road.
Seen the car a few time up there and it was a perfect example, really kleen and with a good factory spec. Sure it was less than 20K miles then. It was advertised on eBay a few times but never made the money (30K) and then I heard that it was sold to the chap in Cornwall.
Just can't get the smile off my face......
