£60 per hour! - how many years ago was that?

It's more like £100-£150 per hour now (which works out equivalent to a salary of about £250,000 - a manufacturing business works on charging no more than 4 times actual salary which would mean the technician should be earning £50,000-£75,000 and they don't get anywhere near that - so someone is lining their pockets...)

£60?! That's just for stepping through the reception door and breathing their air!

Aye ok!!

It's been that long since I've actually paid for a service, it maybe was 60 quid then!

Either way, it is still daylight robbery!

JMC is estolling the qualities of the dealer but then he says he got a bad trade in price... When you are trading up they know you just want the Bright and Shiney one and your cares for the old one is not as important, they monopolise on that... My RS4 when i bought it from Camerons had a wheel or two off another car fitted due to underseal on two and evidence of a touch up on the other two that i only noticed after i picked it up.. i bet my two perfect wheels were fitted to the Misano Avant that they had for sale but i would struggle to prove that... I had dealings with them on my UR Quattro i owned in the 1980's and it seems to have the same team there now...

I didn't say I got a bad trade-in....... I said I 'could' have sold it for £3-4k more, but to whom and when is a different matter.

You are asking £35k for your car, but if I were a dealer, I'd be bidding sub-£30k too. If they really wanted it then they could have offered more. Camerons have sold five RS4s in the past week. Go figure. :|

I've paid £35k for mine and it's got an extra door :P

Perhaps your expectations exceed everyone elses instincts. However, I wish you luck selling your motor. Remember not to buy a car again if you want an 'investment'.

JMC... "An investment" was never my intention but when you buy a nicely specced car for £53k and do 5,000m in 19 months and the vehicle IS the best for sale in the area (scotland), you would even be reluctant to let it go for 1/2 of what you paid for it. I will probably keep the car unless someone comes along that knows the quality of these cars or finds me something under £80k that is a better all round package... I hope you enjoy your Avant which i never considered as i reckon a sporting car should at least look "sporting" and i just fail to see the attraction of an Estate car unless you carry goods or dogs? Good luck and enjoy you car!!

Interesteing comment on Avants not looking sporting, with exception to the C6 RS6 the Avants always show the flared lines better than saloons in IMO.

Good luck with the sale, personally I would keep it and get another car, we are likely to be a three car two driver household by the summer because I see it as suicide to sell the RS and these cars will alst. My father still runs his 1995 Audi 80 Coupe and bar a couple of niggles (brakes and sunroof leak) it has been indestructible says me putting the curse on it now!

I fully intend of keeping mine for at least four more years until my next 'upgrade' has gone through its warranty period and I see how people fair with it post warranty before plunging in myself.

No space on my drive, prohibitively expensive RS parts when you have to pay for them out of warranty, insurance and flippin £400+ road tax (likely to be higher by then too), otherwise I'd think about keeping mine too as it really is a great car.
