B7 to B5????? Am I mad??!

Post by rAudiguy » Tue Feb 10, 2009 6:17 pm

Hi Guys,

I have a B7 saloon with a few bits done to it and i'm a bit power hungry!

Having recently seen some pictures in the B5 wheels thread and having seen the car attached. I'm seriously thinking of changing my beloved B7 for a much older B5.

Don't get me wrong I love my B7 and as MikeyQuatrro can testify it really is a quick car and revs all day long i'm just torn at the moment as to what to do. The other thing to consider in the current climate is even being able to sell my car for good money. Be interested to see if you guys will talk me into the change or feel I should stick with what is a amazing peice of kit already.

cheers

Jim

P.S I love this car so Much!!!!

Jim as an ex B7 owner I can safely say it's a good move. Glad I got out when residuals were holding strong (first 6 months after UK release) and I enjoy the B5. It's remapped and obviously feels quicker than the Standard NA'd B7 car.

Get a mint B5 and you are laughing all the way to the bank.

Mate if you want a spin at any time then feel free to meet sometime :D

In fact we should have an in every gear and FATS test in third to see which car really does pull quicker from 3k in third :D

Sounds like fun to me.

You have to agree though that as good looking as the B7 is in both Saloon and Avant forms, the B5 when lowered looks damn mean. A much more muscular purposeful machine.

Hi Jim
I do think its a difficult choice but i would go for the b5 rs4.
I own one and have driven both, yes the b7 does feel newer and looks great inside and out.Mine is tuned and i was slightly dissapointed when i drove the b7 with the performance although not the handling.
I have just fitted coilovers arb's and bigger brakes and am now really happy with mine.
I also had a estoril blue m3 e46 cab which looked great but you soon get bored with the power,i always have prefered turbo'd cars, you can't beat that surge of power ater owning 5 cossies including a rouse and escort and evo's.
There to boy racer now i'm heading to my 40's lol.

Also the b5 is less common and can be made to look awsome as you've shown with that pic of that black one 8)
Which really is amazing.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Jules

ive driven both the b7 and b5 rs4 and i liked the b7 it was nice and new but the b5 is great car, a tad old but means more money to play with,

theres a b5 rs4 mtm with 509bhp for £28k on pistonheads.com :)
