I feel like i,m being fobbed off!!!!!!

2-4 seconds?! that's one hell of a splutter! Has the tech actually experienced the symptoms first hand? It could be a number of things but for starters look at the plugs...

Is the car fully warmed up??

The DIS displays to keep revs below 6000rpm until the engine is at normal operating temp & depending on driving style/roads it can take a good few miles before reaching the correct temp.

The car has a temporary limiter at 6K RPM until correct engine temp is achieved. I've been a little keen before now & hit that limiter as i'd assumed the engine was at the correct temp, but was obviously a little early.

Other than that i've never heard of such a stutter.

car is warmed up,can replicate at about 5,000 rpm more or less WOT,spark plugs have been replaced and coil packs are all good.Dealer says no faults in their 5052B diag equipment.
Does feel like a fuel restriction but i am no nearer.

Is 6k cold limit due to your remap? Standard is 7k?

even if you have the rev limmieted changed under a remap to 4.5k 5k 6k whatever your choice the display will still read 7k because this can't be changed.

I think just a typo from Paul re the 6k.

My bad.

Did mean 7K, only limiter difference with the map is an extra 300ish RPM at the top end.

Read the O/P 6K then thought i've seen the number 6 (limiter vanishes at 60 degrees) so typed crap

It's 7000rpm (unless you've had it changed during a remap), and it's not advisory - the limiter is at 7000rpm until the oil temperature reaches 60 Celsius when it is moved to 8250rpm (unless you've had that changed during a remap).

Coil packs have to be the number 1 suspect, but VAG-COM would usually show fault codes if it's them.

So maybe the plugs need changing? Do you do a lot of town driving and/or low revs?

Wouldn't the coil packs have forced the car into 'safe mode'?
