Nice b5 RS4 on PH, anyone on here?

Nice spec, 2 owners last sold by Fontain judging by the use of their pics in the ad.

£15k and I'd be very tempted if it's as good as it looks, at £17k it's too close to what I sold mine for in Sep 08 at 71k and I was relieved to get that for it but doesn't mean it's not worth it to someone!

Possibly the angle, but the drivers door looks a different colour to me.

Plus the front RS4 badge is too high. Sorry, feeling a bit anal today !

Rick.

Personally, I'd pay the extra for this one

Spotted the badge, I'd hope the owner has put that right.
As for the paint, good point, I was more concerned with the panel gap between nearside doors as it seems to widen as it gets closer to the B pillar.
He's now added a pic of the wheels leaning against the back bumper

Is it me or is "I had to have a car that could do a sub 5 second 0-60mph" slightly offputting? :)

Prices are still holding strong for cars in good condition (Y reg too) and with miles under 60k. It's like any car the more miles then the car drops quickly. An extra 10k on these cars knocs a grand of the price, so 50k over the lowere mileage cars = 5k off.

That's why a 100k mile car can be had for peanuts on there.

What they ask and what they sell for are two different things :)
I haven't seen a Nick J RS4 sell for a while and he doesn't seem to have realigned his prices with today's reality which is a gamble IMHO as I think we are along way from prices going back up but we shall see what the spring bring us as this is traditionally the time for buying and selling exotica....

I drive past his place most days and the same old cars seem to have been sat there for some time now. But as mentioned above, advertised prices & sold-for prices can be completely different.

Spoke to Nick J not too long ago and he's not dropping them as he's trying to keep prices high. He's obviously not too bothered about moving them on and is preperated to wait. Fair play to him too.

Yes, fair play, absolutely - nice if you can afford to hold on to them for that long, I guess.
But then, we know how much he's given for them in the first place....

Yes agreed but he knows these cars will not continue to depreciate and when the economy gets better people will pay 20k for a nice example.
It's funny cos Neckarsulm would have a different stance if he was the seller and not the buyer :D

I want prices to stay high not get offer 14k for a car that is imo worth 18k.

I agree with you, if thats his business, I hope he's right and he continues to make money doing it that way. I'm gald he's doing RS owners a favour ;)
Nice cars are going to get fewer & far-er (make sense?) between them, so I imagine you're right about people paying those amounts. There's a buyer for everything, I suppose. As you said, buyers & sellers are always going to have a difference of opinion on what the cars are worth.

TBH I am very relieved I am not a seller in the current climate, I could see the writing was on the wall in the late summer and voted with my feet and sold my car taking a very minor hit for 18 months and 10k miles - my job is to buy and sell VW/Audi so I'd like to think I am very aware of the market.
Even if I was a B5 RS4 owner still, I would try and avoid the unfortunate viewpoint people on forums always have of thinking their car is worth much more than it really is although I agree that a good RS4 is worth significantly more than the usual tut though that doesn't necessarily mean all specialist's cars are.
As for Nick J trying to keep prices high, there are plenty on the market priced to sell. Until these dry up I can't seem his stock moving by which time we'll have B7 and B5 at the same price for the same mileage, now that will be interesting eh Contigo?! :P

..Just checked PH and this NJ car seems correctly priced and is new stock (could pass as a 2 year old car (groan)), how does one explain that?

Nick has dropped his prices as you rightly state to suit the current climate.

As you say the prices coming down on the B7's wll be interesting BUT people will still buy the B5. In fact we even said that the B5 could stay high and be worth more than a B7 one day just like the 997 and 996's did.
