Custom code

Post by NGS521 » Tue Jan 27, 2009 4:57 pm

Has anyone used custom code for any remaps, specifically the B7 RS4 remap phase 1 or 2? Looks a bit too good to be true, are these figures realistic would and would I expect a large pop from under the bonnet?

No way can you get those BHP figures with any remap

The generally accepted maximum seems to be getting it to Audi's initially quoted figures...

Since all claimed increases are based on assumed powertrain losses and rolling road factors which are specific to each installation etc the only thing that can be compared is the claimed increases.

No other tuner makes claims close to those made by Custom Code - all the others claim 20-30bhp increases not 40-50bhp, so I'm very sceptical about them.

The S3 8P owners on Audisport don't rate custom code either.

IIRC they were asked to show r/r figures on this very forum on this section from an RS4 they remapped and as with most tuners the evidence never materialised.

Those sorts of gains would only be possile with an exhaust / manifiold upgrade also on an N/A engine is the generally accepted thought.

I have custom straight through pipes on mine with no cats and no pre-cats. We estimated the bhp to be in the region of 440bhp after remap. Those figures were taken from the Airflow*0.8 calculation....

Sorry to pull up an old thread

All the figures that are quoted on the Custom-Code website for the Phase 2 are with the associated modifications done on the vehicle - Cold Air Intakes, Sports Exhaust Systems, Sports Cats, Nitrous Oxide, Water Injection, Aftermarket Cams or Hybrid Turbos etc

We have done a number of the RS6's and RS4's with good gains and happy customers

If anyone would like any more information please feel free to ask

If you can post some graphs of good gains on B7's, I'm sure everybody would appreciate it.

For starters, they'd want to know how.

Unless you've dropped a 2.7TT or 3.0TT in there that is...

Please see graph as posted previously from a B7 RS4 at Weston Performance

Image

The gains made using the Custom-Code Phase 1 are relative gains to the BHP the vehicle made stock - approx 7% i do believe. This is in line with many other tuners increases.

From reading many forums and seeing peoples reactions to the claimed 414BHP stock figure i believe that this is overly optimistic. We base all of our stock power figures on information collated from respected sources,we then offset this by adding the appropriate percentage increase we make using Custom-Code software thus giving the 445-455bhp figures for stage 1,this is an increase of 31-41bhp over stock.

Also with our new website we will be quoting percentage gains and not referring to 'stock' figures

As a added bonus we are currently offering a number of package deals available through JBS Auto Designs,if you contact us on 01246 455004 or 01246 455005

There is also a 30 day money back guarantee on the software if you are not completely satisfied

Hi Leigh,

Quoting % gains seems emminently sensible...

You've posted that graph before in this thread: http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... e&start=15

Any chance of the VAGCOM files being posted as well (in particular airflow etc) like the original thread suggests?

It does,it seems the only way around the current issues of power figures quoted not being made.

That is correct, unfortunately at the current moment in time we dont have access to any other RS4 B7 graphs

I will see what can be done regarding the VAG-COM files and getting them posted

Leigh
