RE: big turbo upgrade
Probably not worth looking into it incase it breaks and you have to sell it on without mentioning any problems to the future owner.

RE: big turbo upgrade
plenty of GT28/30 kits out there.
shop around and get your hardware from the US, even at the current exchange rate it is worth it.
Gt2871 on a 2.0l offers excellent trade off between low down torque and top end potential.
dependant on boost and map you could see 200bhp by 4000rpm and 400bhp at the top end.

We are currently developing turbo kits for the S3 8P chassis along the lines of 450bhp with the capabilities to go further with supporting modifications
As soon as we have more information on the kits we shall let you know

You'll hardly see 400 BHP on a GT28 based turbo if you don't max it out and if you don't want to melt the engine.jc.. wrote:plenty of GT28/30 kits out there.

We have had 420 PS on my own development Golf being tested in every possible situation and the most extreme driving for over 15k miles without a single glitch, and this is on a GT3071R with external wastegate, pretty big difference to a GT2871R with internal WG...
When we say it's reliable, it means you can reach 7500 RPM in 6th gear all day long even with 40 degrees outside, and you will not encounter any reliability issues nor break anything. My top speed record in the Golf is 7550 RPM or around 185mph GPS, and I have done done that about 50 times on this kit. Whomever claims 400 reliable BHP on a GT2871R will have to do the same, the same amount of times without melting a valve and then I'll believe it

Because we have had this kit on my own Golf for that long without any issues, we can now proudly say we can market it and offer it to customers. One thing we've never done is use customers as guinea pigs, this is why we first test this sort of mods on our own cars and then on customers cars, once we've taken things to the limit without exceeding them.

Here's another one of our kits dyno tuned and tested in France this week on a Seat Leon Cupra TFSI:

my Golf's dyno plot:

And soon more pictures to follow of a 2nd Edition30 Golf that has the same kit fitted in the UK

He has sold it on and is now working on a GTi Ed30 RS - ie, stripping as much weight out with sensible power figures.... it's coming along nicely.
I think they changed the rules their so only members can see.
Lots of Audi's getting targeted by thieves at the moment...
Even with the big turbo he said it drove like a pussy cat and he got better MPG on motorways (as it was off boost!) - win win!!!
