I agree with Lynchy - Walton Audi terrible service, proper amateurs.

Camberley Audi - the best main dealer I have ever experienced of any brand of top end car marques. Rob Chorley and the team are second to none for customer care / service / experience for the RS6's. Even the other members of the service team remember your face, ask how you are etc etc. You really do feel well looked after!

Experienced four different dealers in London (Finchley, Wimbledon, Dulwich and Dovercourt). Their labour rates are shocking and I have pointed this out on several occasions i.e. fully qualified architect after 5+ years charges out at £90 per hour and they were charging at £95 per hour for a mechanic who often mis-diagnosed. Also no consistency on servicing quotes which allows for competitive pricing (on my 60k service quotes varied by 50%). From now on MRC! :P

I've been a skilled motor vehicle tech for a yawningly amount of years, and after buying my RS6 with warranty needed to get a service done to get the book stamped... so it griped me to pay for something i knew i could do equally aswell if not better than someone else, so she went into Tonbridge Audi who were utter "<beep>" and i told them so.
They gave the car back to me filthy, when they stipulate on paper it will be cleaned, they said they had no previous history on the DRC when i had bills to prove otherwise and so it went on......they're just toilet.
However i went to Bromley Audi to get a warranty job done and they were a total breath of fresh air, great service, very prompt and the car came back to me looking as though it had been detailed so will go back to them now,oh and the Service Adviser is a reeet cracker !! :D

No doubt in my mind Camberley are far and away best in this neck of woods. Ask for Martin or Rob and you'll get a very helpful response on almost any problem (well, related to the car anyway!!) Stuart is the key RS tech and he's first class.

Only concern is Rob's sanity - it's rumoured he's just bought a Fiat 500....

Oh, and chat to Michelle - she'll fix anything you want, well almost!!

+1 for camberley, thought Rob was going for a new S3, Stuart very helpful too , especially in what really needs doing, not just creating work to line their pockets, top notch compared to Audi East London (Canary Wharf) - robbers and dont deliver on their word.

I,ve dealt with Swansea and Listers Worcester.Swansea are OK.My 'personal' service adviser is very helpful but a little at the mercy of the workshop I suspect! Not exactly cheap but they seem competent so I don't mind using them.Listers were very helpful, friendly, obliging etc.Clearly wanted the business and seemed keen to establish good customer connections.Probably go back to them for the next service even if it is about a 200 mile round trip.

OK - I'm not a particularly mechanically minded person, but I'm thinking that needs to change with my new purchase and its been something which has always interested me - my car also has a fairly expensive looking plate so I'm pretty sure that they saw me coming....

As soon as I bought the car I took it straight to them for a check & service as the last one was 9000 miles ago - I used to have an M3 and found the local BMW dealer to be very good. £450 later they said there was nothing wrong with it at all and they'd just checked it over, changed some filters etc. normal service stuff.

A week later the coolant light came on so I took it back, whereby they then mentioned they had already topped the coolant up (checked it) so it was probably something more serious. So after an investigation, they said it needed a new radiator which they had to order in - about £1000 all-in or similar.

After taking the bumper off etc. to change the radiator they found out there was nothing wrong with it as it was just the bleed screw (or something) at the bottom which needed tightening up. So £350 later, my screw was tightened....

However, during this procedure the (18 year old) RS6 specialist noticed that that under pressurisation the oil sump (?) was also leaking coolant which would need replacing = engine out etc. circa. £3000. In fact, I actually started to smell a rat when he said something along the lines of 'its a very specialist job, only a few people would do it, a bit like surgery' plus it was a fairly urgent job as the car could basically seize up.

I went straight to another garage who pressurised the system and said it was complete rubbish, that in fact the only explanation could be that the 18 year old was mistaking coolant for water - nothing needed replacing.
I had someone else (a mechanic we have used for years known locally as 'honest john') also check it out and look over the car and he agreed that nothing was wrong with the coolant system at all, spare a dodgy filler cap.

He also looked the car over and could see little or no evidence of any service by audi, as the engine oil needed to be flushed and replaced, loads of the ducts were full of leaves etc.. and they had also failed to notice a front driver's side suspension problem (is this anything to do with dreaded DSC?).

However in Audi Tonbridge's favour, they did do a very good job of cleaning the car (actually they didn't do that very well either - it was a bit smeared). So there you are.

Can anyone recommend a specialist to me please (my transmission is dodgy) and ideally a decent main dealer too - but not part on Inchape which I think runs 3/4 audi dealers near me.

Ha - I'm just getting started - I'm pretty sure I'll need new transmission by the look of things and some elements of my suspension seem a bit dodgy, so I'll keep you informed of how I get on - wish I'd found this site before I bought the car - I've been looking at RS6's for years and very nearly bought one 3 years ago, but my wife talked me out of it!
