airbag light

my airbag light appeared on the dashboard this afternoon while driving and will not go off. I`ve been out in the car a few times this afternoon and this evening and its stays on all the time, anybody got any ideas what it could be before i take it to the dealers and get slapped round the face with a wet fish and charged for the pleasure of it..

I have no idea, but I've had the airbag warning light but only intermittently on one day when I had 4 passengers in the car. I guessed that there might be some kind of weight sensor in the rear seats. Hasn't happened since, but it's normally just me in the car.

Same thing happened on mine after having people sitting in the back. It seems that the sensors in the seats can be intermittent.
