Owned the car 2 weeks and have DRC failure!!

My Avant is in Audi at the minute with 4 leaking shocks and 4 leaking control valves? Warranty company are sending someone out to check out the claim.
Audi want 1.5k just for the valves
Only had the car 2 weeks so garage is paying.....thank god!

Is bad luck indeed... Good luck with the warranty/garage standing by their responsibilities.... oh, each opposing pair of dampers is connected by 1 control valve, so it will be 4 dampers and 2 valves for a full replacement. Ironic that Audi have persisted with DRC on RS4 B7 and RS6 C6.

I know a guy that is going to enter into a legal battle over his DRC system with Audi. He has had his backwards and forwards about 8 or 9 times and it still is not fixed. Audi won't admit the system doesn't work as good as it should and they insist on keep trying to fix it. All he wants is a set of coilovers!!

sorry to hear that but good news that the garage are paying. The DRC does repeatedly fail though. I had the whole system replaced by Audi in May 08. A shock needed doing in August and yesterday Camberley have just diagnosed a further 2 shocks and 2 valves. I was quite shocked to be honest and if it wasn;t for Audi warranty the bill would be nearly 3k inc 2 CV boots and a parking sensor.

Audi have had the car for 2 weeks now and they said they are waiting for 2 more shocks. How can it take so long to get parts?
Been on the phone trying to get the garage to pull out and save a few quid with coilovers. I have even offered to go down to see grizz at my own cost.

How can they prove the shocks was leeking before you got the car? A leek is a leek! If something started leeking last week then how can you prove this with out someone doing a report before the leek?

Rip it all out and fit replacement coilovers, then you have no more worries. My car had all DRC components replaced in may only to fail again after 4 months/2k miles, bin it! See if garage will pay towards cost of coilovers, about £1600. Worth it for future peace of mind.

I am trying to pull the car out of Audi and get the garage to pay for coilovers. Just waiting for the garage to get back to me on it. I tried explaining the situation with regards to all the problems with the suspension so lets hope he agrees to pay for them. At the end of the day he will probably save a couple of hundred quid doing it that way, maybe more if it goes again very soon.

I am in the process of selling my RS6, and in the last week or so I have heard a faint clunking from the O/S/F shocker. So I booked the car into Audi, and I have been advised two shockers are leaking. Can't F'n believe this. The full system was only replaced in March 08, and it should be covered under the warranty.

The car was diagnosed by Stirling Audi, however they say they can't repair DRC and have sent the car back to Glasgow Audi for replacement of 'Faulty parts'. I telephoned Glasgow Audi this afternoon only to find they need to look over the car to check the DRC. I explained the fault was with two leaking shocks and this had been diagnosed but I am now playing a waiting game again. Thankfully I have been given an A4 Avant courtesy car. I can't understand why the dealerships won't just change these faulty DRC systems for coilovers.

Mine failed after a week... warranty refused to pay out and the supplyind dealer shipped the car back to them on a transporter to be fixed. If the parts are on back-order they should loan you a replacement car though? Sadly it is unlikely to be anything decent! I got a 2.0T FSi A5 which was gutless and horrible to try and drive quickly!

Got the beast back today, very happy... feels very quiet and smooth (the suspension!) Really missed it, garage had it for three weeks.
Now thinking of the best way to get a nicer sound from it, is a milltek/similar the only way or can you remove the cats?
Has anyone removed the cats and changed the tailpipes and got the look and the sound of the milltek but obviously cheaper.?

Why couldn't Stirling do it - was it just because Glasgow had fitted them so recently or was it technically they couldn't do the job??

milltek is the way and it's quality is second to none. Don't compromise fella!
