Saloon v Avant
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Saloon v Avant
the saloon looks like a bumperless car and the rear lights are too high - that is why it needs lowered - a lot.

do they not all have the spolier on the bootlid?tweek wrote:I think its the saloon's boot lid that just looks wrong too smooth with nothing to define it.

All the ones I've see have a small spoiler on the boot lid.

I disagree with that comment for two reasonsmbelle wrote:All RS' should be Avant only.
A - If my De-chromed Black saloon (optics kit) was an avant, it would be like driving a hearse
B - Just imagine giving it large in an estate....all you need are some steps and guess what......... you now go window cleaning
Joking aside & no disrespect to the avant owners out there, but personally coming from an M3 Convertible, it had to be the saloon as i couldnt deal with all the extra glass & you've got to admit, you get a pucker combo on a saloon and you've now got something as rare as rocking horse s**t !!

I've come from a long line of convertibles, coupes and saloons all jap or german. Got my avant and have never looked back. Four comfortably in the cabin and 4 suitcases in the back enroute to vacations, loading house junk for the tip and the weekly run to the wholesalers is proof that the avant is a god send. Endless scalpings too.
RS6 (MRC'd with econodrive) is not just for Xmas

Forgot to mention I drive the RS6 saloon and my wife drives the 4.2V8 sport (same body with flared wheelarches) and the SALOON is just more macho and a little more exclusive!
Mugello blue saloon with MRC re-map 1+, Bilstein PSS9, Hotchkis ARBs and resonated Milltek cat-back, Kenwood DAB/Sat Nav/Ipod/Bluetooth
iv got a saloon, personally not a big fan of the normal saloon, but in RS guise i think it looks the nuts, agree it looks very agressive / macho. I am a fan of the avant, but more family like IMO, looks better if you loose the roof rails. either way, amazing cars, love the fact i can have a play with an R8
The Avant is more appealing to the eye, the saloon needs something done to the back end to take away the softness..... and to scalp Porkers in an avant with four up and luggage in the back while the occupants are blissfully unaware..... well I can't recall ever thinking about what was behind me, an avant or saloon....
Come to think of it I might have, in fact sniggered when thinking about the Porker or the TVR Tuscan I just roasted, imagine the driver thinking what the feck was that estate doing, it just roasted me and I was balls out..... and the occupants sailed by with all four looking out the window as they cruised on.
When the turbo's are spooled up and flying, the car just handles well irrespective whether avant or saloon, it just looks better in an avant..... especially black
