Was that at the Audi Driver event last weekend??

My 1st ever track day was at CC a good few years back in my RS6 & that corner is a mare. Was on track in my RS6 with scoTTy in his S4 & we came upon a welll known White TT & as he tried so hard to stave us off, he over ran that corner & placed his nearside tyres onto the grass, just lucky it wasn't too wet as he managed to keep it together & got back on the black stuff.

Went to Goodwood circuit on the off chance last saturday. Private track day booked but I could of paid 170.00 for as many laps. Not sure wether to or not, as I did not have any track day insurance. After seeing that video seems like I made the right decision....Could happen to anyone!!

in fairness to trackdays and track driving in general then no it couldn't happen to anyone , it happens to people who overestimate their talant or drive like a <beep> , i have done hundreds of track days since i started in the early 90'sand never binned a car , track days are not for 10 10th driving , we save that for racing .

Agree with that. It's been stated elsewhere that the guy was driving with ESP off and was trying to powerslide it on that corner. It was only his second lap and had already spun it (and got away with it) on the same corner on the first lap. Its not the behaviour for track days as you could easily collect another car. Sorry, no sympathy for idiots like that.

Totally agree. I've not done hundreds, more like 25ish, including Spa/Nordschleife as well as the main UK tracks & have never had more than a little wobble. Often that's due to slight driver error (on my part) or me pushing the envelope that extra few points & getting a reminder why i should not.

Saying that i have encountered some total c0cks on track who either have or deserved to encounter a prang & often they have no regard for anyone elses safety.

Watching the youtube vid it appears fairly black & white that the driver had no experience of a fast Quattro vehicle, as the back only stepped ever so slightly out & the driver totally over compensated for such a non event when he should have just retained power & continued, the car wasn't even close to the grass when he snapped the counter steer.

Easy to comment as i was not driving, but that vid clip is hard to argue against. At least the driver/passenger are OK, although the car will need more than a polish.

In the CC briefings they tell you that if you leave the track you've run out of talent. Sums it up really. An earlier post mentioned trackday insurance ... I note that Greenlight no longer cover Castle Combe but not sure whether MORIS still do or not.
