The dealers can't drop the prices quick enough at the moment.A friend who is dealer principle at a BMW garage has got a 3 year old 650 in the showroom at £29k and no one is interested. I am hearing horror stories of the prices of 911's, 997's have been swapping hands in the trade at under 30k for several months. Happily (??!) my Boxster is 4 years old so has lost pretty much all it is going to.

Agreed.

I see these VFM mototrists on my commute most mornings, lost the will to live, have to be quicker than anyone else and reckless with it, how BORING!

Give me 28mpg and a V8 growl anyday. Depreciation is only a real concenr for those looking to frequently chnage cars. My RS is here for the long term, I couldn't care what it is worth in two, four or five years time and I'll worry about it when I get there.

In other words I could not afford to run them.

28mpg - do you drive in slippers?

On my daily commute I get 16mpg, and just about manage 25mpg at weekends when I'm "having fun".

If only, my 80 mile round trip on the A19 doesn't allow to many heart warming moments, I have broken the magical 30mpg at one stage but then booted it out of the Tyne Tunnel booths in clear traffic and wiped 5mpg off the reading in a couple of miles!

At the weekends I struggle to see 20's!

As for your prices APM, I have to say the dealer didn't want your business that much and Merc dealers have a reputation for that. I originally looked at an SLK 55AMG before buying my S4 and they offered me half book on my 2002 S3, my car only being 2 years old at the time and below avergae mileage.

Nice to see some dealers don't change!

If you can afford a 100k + car then a 30k hit should not matter, if it does matter then you where acting the big dick all along.
