RS4 tyre wear, front vs rear

I have done 6000 miles and noted the fronts are much more worn than the rears, but, I am not sure if the front and rears were swapped over at the service.
Now I have had a puncture and changed both front tyres and I want to make sure the new tyres at the end that wears quickest.
So could anyone say if the front or rears tend to wear quickest on the B7 RS4, I imagine it is the fronts that wear quickest as it seems to understear.

I believe most owners find their tyres wear fairly evenly.

I went through the factory-fit P-Zero's in about 7500 miles and the wear was even across front and back....perhaps marginally higher wear on the fronts.

Wearing Continetals on mine for the second time... Fronts wore quicker for me... so swapped them over at 6k miles.

Seem to get 10K out of mine per set..

i have had pirelli p zeros on my car since new. Needed to change fronts at 10k but rear are still showing about 4.5mm. I think extra engine weight and steering must make front wear more.

The weight distribution is 58/42.

Running slightly higher pressures on the fronts should even that out a little....

Personally, I like to run my tyres towards the higher end of the allowable pressure range.

As usual there is a compromise between grip, roll, wet performance, dry performance....

I think the F1's are going to last a bit longer which makes sense bearing in mind their larger contact patch...

My experience with Michelin PS2s is that the fronts reliably wear faster.

THe fronts were replaced at 10,000 miles and they were at 3mm, whilst rears were at 5mm.

On reflection i should have watched a bit more carefully and swapped front - rear to even this out.

Agree with SR71 re running fronts at the higher end of pressures which i've been doing with second set.

Conti's changed on the front at 10k miles, rear tyres should be OK for at least 2k miles more. Dealer supplied and fitted the replacement too, great service and price too !

On the Conti Sportcontact3's I had the fronts did wear quicker than the rears but by only 1mm in 15000 miles of usage and I didn't have to swap them around at any stage. Ran 39 at front, 36 at rear.

Tracking check may also help your problem. I'm amazed at some only getting 7-8K miles out of their tyres. I'm not easy on mine but 14-18K is around what I am expecting from decent tyres, will see how the 275/30 F1's I have fair.

I had PZero Rossos as the OE fit and managed to get only 9,000 miles from them.

My second set was PS2s which lasted 13,000 miles and I would have had them again if the F1 Assymetrics hadn't been such a good price (I was quoted £1200 for PS2s or just over £700 for F1 Assymetrics).

The front has always worn slightly faster than the rear but both times when the front have been down to 2mm the rears have been about 3mm.

I tend to drive with my ESP totally switched off unless its pouring with rain which might have something to do with accelerated wear...

My wear was absolutely even across the tyre so I figured the tracking was spot on.

I was a little surprised when I hit ~7500 miles to find the wear was down to the limit, so I squeezed a little more out of the tyres and hoped no-one was looking...

My 275's F1's are wearing more heavily on the front, to the point I will be switching them over tomorrow. I'm also paying the price for living near so many roundabouts as the front nearside has worn more than the front offside.

Yep same as fronts will wear faster due to steering and fron end loading on breaking etc . I have changed fronts at 12k actually got about 1k left on the back.

How many miles have you done on the 275 F1's?

Put them on in very early Jan and have covered approximately 5k (mainly city miles) since.

Also had the tracking checked at the time of fitting so know everything is pointing where it needs to be!
