warranty
my warranty is up soon so id thought i phone my local dealer to see how much renewal is, they wanted 2=£2004 for the named components one and £2700 for all components one. Then i phoned the dealers i use in Scotland, the all components warranty came in at £1200 which included audi assist, how can 2 dealers be so different on the same warranty?
RE: warranty
There seems to be some confusion at the stealers about Audi warranties.
The deal is if you don't have a warranty it costs about £2700 for the FIRST YEAR, but less for the second. If you already have an Audi warranty then you can renew it at a greatly reduced cost (well over a grand less). It does depend how old the car is and the mileage. Speak directly to Audi Warranty not the stealers as they kept getting it wrong when I asked.

RE: warranty
I concur with Grant on this (ark at me!).....It’s around £2000 + for a warranty if you don’t have one already and about £1200 if you do. Call Audi customer service..They will confirm what’s what.
RE: warranty
I also concur! I last renewed my warranty by speaking to them directly. They sent me out a pricing structure thing but age and mileage didn't seem to make a difference. Even the specific model doesn't make a difference, they just group it by engine size so the warranty cost is the same as anything else with an engine > 3.0 I think, which is bizarre given how many DRC replacements they must pay for (which won't feature on other models). The only other factor is the amount of miles per year. A £1200 warranty covers you for 15k miles. If you do more than that then £1600 buys you an unlimited miles warranty. In some cases it might make sense to simply renew a £1200 warranty every 15k miles if that's about 11 months worth, rather than be paying the extra £400 for one more month.

Am have to confess I didnt step up to the Audi Waranty, in the end i bought a lifetime of ownership Gold warranty from Motorcare Warranties, i pay one lump sum at the begin (£800) and as long as the car is serviced at regular intervals as per the service book it renews for free for every year of ownership.
Admittedly its weakness is the maximum per claim is £2.5k, furthermore they pay only £65/hr +VAT for labour, so in London if i go to an audi dealership i have to pick up the additional £50/hr. So far it has paid for itself, having had a new rear shock, tyre pressure sensor, turbo hose, MAF sensor and SATNAV aerial - all done by Audi East London. I could got to a Audi specialist for the repairs but i dont know of any RS6 experienced specialists in central london apart from the dealerships (admittedly some of them arent great), i am off to Camberley Audi this weekend for this year's annual service - i have heard good things about Rob and Stuart's work there.
Otherwise has anyone else looked at this policy?

If your car isn't quite 5 years old yet, then renew the audi warranty before her 5th birthday for £1200, otherwise will cost an additional £500. I think you can renew upto 4 months prior to warranty lapse.marmite wrote:my policy is up and just got off the phone and they quoted £1747 last year was only £1200

Also, if your car isn't quite 5 years old when you renew the audi warranty you then still get a full "all components" 12 months warranty as opposed to it turning into a "named components only" cover on the cars 5th birthday.
I got conflicting information on this also from vaious main dealers, but I guess it depends on how friendly they are with the Insurance rep !

SO if someone like me buys an RS6 which is on say an 03 plate, and the car doesn't have a current Audi warranty..............I will have to pay £2700 for the first year, and then £1700 for the second year? Also this will be "named components". Does this just exclude items like tyres etc, or are there potentially things that could go wrong which still wouldn't be covered under the £2700 Audi warranty.
The last time I renewed my warranty, I did it with the company direct over the phone rather than through my dealer. You may find that they can bend the rules a little more than the dealer. They let me renew a warranty 3 weeks or so after it had expired even though the dealer said it was impossible (and I'd have to buy the new warranty). Give 'em a ring on 0845 6419707.
