Custom-Code Phase 1 - Customers Review
Come on guys give them a brake, i spent the day at custom code looking at all there development work on 1.8t's and r32's . They get 600bhp from a 1.8t !!!!!!! And 650+bhp from a turbo r32.
I've seen there A2L file and demoz file ( I think you call it that I'm sure James will put me right..) That allows the full modification of the ecu .

I have just had my RS4 B7 put on a rolling road at Star Performance in Kirkaldy, posted the results in this thread "Some Milltek questions" by Jim. The max out of mine was 382 BHP, and Jim has never seen any RS4 B7 put more than 390 BHP out the same goes for Miltek. This is in standard form. The question he has is where and how do Audi get there figures of 420 from.
I don't think anyone has see 420 froma standard car .

LIke said before thought skip, the only real true test is for someone to take their engine out and put it on a bench dyno.
Not likely to happen otherwise and transmission loss can be incorporated to make most figures up to OEM specification.
Back to Custom Code and for Grizz and S4Woody, I'm not crucifying them and appreciate what they are trying to do, however the reality is that I don't take what anyone says for granted when in regard to car peformance without concrete evidence which is what I am asking for here.
I have had a look at their website which seems fine, however before and after plots on a specific car are the best gauge of the real improvement.
I don't think that is too much to ask of someone who I am considering giving over my car to to 'tune', do you?

Knowing the debate power output has caused on this particular site, you'd expect that anyone i.e., business claiming 460+hp for their re-map would want to have some serious data to support their contention...especially when there are some respected tuners on this site and the general consensus is that even extracting 420+hp from this engine is good work.
And no-one is interested in one-off mapping/figures either on a car that will last 2 months because it is now running right on the ragged edge...
I've ordered myself a GTech Pro RR and we'll see what figures that spits out for my particular car because I'm curious as to whether this eliminates the transmission losses issue...

I would challenge any tuner of this forum to take a standard car to a know test centre and do before and after runs. Pending the outcome from that you could have a potentially huge number of B7 RS4’s beating down your door.
Anyone who has done a full test on an RS4 will tell you that very few standard cars can even make the Audi claimed 420, by the same token there are a few who have gone to Audi with this info and Audi has done what was needed to improve the figure that were achieved to get closer to the claimed 420.
Personally I would “chipâ€

Come on someone, want to improve my B7 ( hard to do I know) and would like to try a "tune" before I go down the NOS route ( harder for the main stealers to find than NOS).
All we want is a before and after plot

Well, Grizz is offering a free stage one CC remap to any vag car if you win his competition( http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=70148 ), so you guys should get your entries in, before/after test your car on Dyno Demon's road next to Unit 20, then make your mind up for free!
I'm sure the map could be removed for free if you weren't happy with it!

Guys,
Unless drastics fuelling and timing changes are made on an NA engine and a stupidly high rev-limiter set the ecu will itself protect the engine from lean conditions, ping etc.
One thing that is never a good idea is to turn such safety measures off and I have seen numerous tunes from various companies that do just that!

All off our B7 tuning was done was on a bench dyno, this is where we get our power figures from.
To put this to rest once and for all we are putting a standard B7 on a chassis dyno at Western Performance http://www.westernperformance.co.uk as they have one of the best dyno cells in the UK. We have chosen Western Performance because they have no relation to Custom-Code and they will carry out an independent dyno session. When we have the results from these rolling roads, which will be Friday, we will post dyno figures of both chassis and engine figures whatever they may read.
At the end of the day we are prepared and always have been, to back up our claims as needed. Any customer is welcome to contact us for more technical information.
Please do not make judgement or compare us to any other tuners without having all the facts.
We will also post VAG-COM logs of a standard B7 showing air flow, ignition and fuelling. We will also post C-C P1 VAG-COM logs with the same data. With a simple calculation of air flow and fuelling on a C-C P1 B7 then to compare this to the chassis or engine dyno figures you will see a direct comparison to air flow and bhp.
All this data will be posted in one go, hopefully putting this discussion to rest once and for all.
Audi B7 Phase 1 costs £575.75 with the 30% discount. We also offer a 30day money back guarantee
We will also offer the first 10 people to book in for the Custom-Code Phase 1 remap quoting RS246 will receive a further 10% discount.
If there is anything else you would like help with or to speak about please feel free to give us a call on 01246 455004
