refurbishing recaros

Post by waiman » Thu Apr 17, 2008 12:39 am

looked at quite a few rs4s over the past week..noticed that the seats had loads of crease marks on the leather etc,etc on all of them...anyone know a good place to get a retrim or refurbishing(would like to buy a rs4 with the half leather half cloth recaros as i think they will be better to wear and tear)

And you would be quite correct- I've seen loads of full leather set-ups on all kinds of Audi's and it convinced me to go down the leather/tech route- after all our cars are all at least 7years old now- thats a lot of arse action even if you just toddle down to the shops twice a week. Seems the leather goes baggy across the board- gf's last TT was full leather- awful- with 50000 on the clock- her latest TT is leather/alcantara- much better! Sorry can't help with sourcing a renovator but some of the better quality (ha) tuning magazines usually disclose their sources and don't look half bad.

I can recommend Intatrim, they do a ton of work in the kit and classic market. Their work is second to none imo, give Graham a call on 01952 641712. Tell him Tom from Kit Car Mag sent you for a special price!

 10% more commission you mean Tom? :beerchug: ;-)

Useful tip re Intatrim though, most '6s I've seen have creased driver side bolsters and seat. Thanks.

Cheers!

Crikey...I wish! But in all seriousness they supply a good majority of the manufacturers in industry and have done a ton of film work too, (remember Blakes 7!), and Graham is a very decent guy.

Have to agree with you about the leather vs. High Tech debate... not to mention the anti-slide characteristics they offer as well!
I recently bought a full set of black leathers..... but will be selling it on in favour of re-trimming my halfleathers when they are badly worn.

MJ interiors are a Recaro agent. Parts, new bolsters, subframes, heating element replacement with new carbon pads, retrims the lot.
