Problems with Michelin ps2

Post by DevonMike » Sat Apr 05, 2008 7:03 pm

Although i havent posted very much, i am a very keen reader of the advice given on this forum. When my tyres needed renewal i took it as a no-brainer to fit Michy ps2s, as so many people were reccommending them.

However i find that i lose grip with them on 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear changes when accelerating hard. This never used to happen with the pirellis that were previously fitted.

They seem to corner fine, but to be honest i havent had enough confidence in them to push cornering to the limit. They have done about a thousand miles, so i would have thought they would have been at their best.

Has anyone else had problems, or perhaps i have a duff set?

Any advice or info gratefully received.

Mike.

Hi There
I have ps2 on mine and i would estimate it makes 450-460 and dont have any of the problems you mention,it might be worth having a look at your rear wishbone bushes,if theyre shot you will get too much movement in the rear arms when getting on and off the power,it might give the sensation the tyres are giving up.Just a thought as ps2 are regarded as pretty much THE tyre for br rs4

In trying to find out why my ps2s are not performing correctly, i noticed that the tyre pressures should be 36 front and 34 rear, pretty sure i am running 32 on all four corners. Hopefully by raising the pressure this will solve my problem.
