RE: which petrol
shell vpower is 99 ron bp is 97 ron so your car should run better on shell plus i find shell to be cheaper

RE: which petrol
I think EVO found BP Ultimate to be better than VPower on a new Golf GTI despite the RON difference.
RE: which petrol
i tried both and found the vpower better but it also depends on how fresh the fuel . the shell garage i go to is always very busy so its always got a new supply of fresh fuel .i also tried tesco 99 but it costs the same as vpower and there was all that trouble tesco had on messing up the fuel

RE: which petrol
V power does go off the older it is, but as said above if u stick to a busy garage its always fresh!

RE: which petrol
This is one of those things with no definitive answer; seen so many forum threads that rattle on in each one's favour. As above, as long as you get fresh stuff, thats the important thing. I've found Shell consistently cheaper though its all pretty scandalous. Not really found any difference between the two.

Neither did I?Jarv wrote:Didn't know that, better stick that 40 litres I have in two jerry cans in my garage in the car then.bigandyw wrote:V power does go off the older it is

IMHO I've always alternated between Tesco 99 and Shell V-Power - never had anything else in it
Problem is though, I'll have V-Power in, fill up with Tesco 99 (not feel much difference) then fill up with V-Power and feel like my car has been transformed. However, vice-versa with the Tesco 99 a few tanks later!

RE: Re: RE: which petrol
AFAIK V-Power does go off; something to do with some of the additives inside it.
I wouldn't use Tesco 99, after what happened last time with Tesco fuel!
I always stick to V-Power......just my 2p's worth

Re: RE: Re: RE: which petrol
Yeah I was the same, then I read an article about Tesco 99 compared with other fuels inc. Shell V-Power and it came out on top, and that article was only written in 2006 IIRCR33V-Spec wrote:I wouldn't use Tesco 99, after what happened last time with Tesco fuel!

So basically, filling with V-Power is hit and miss - i.e. we the consumer are never going to know how fresh the fuel is, unless we have information regarding the schedule it gets replaced at our local Shell's???

Not in the massive tank on the rs6 as it likes to use it at a fast rate
