DRC Worry Free

Post by Cobalt » Thu Mar 06, 2008 11:00 am

At last I am DRC free.

KW's fitted by Ray West two days ago. Very happy that "the knock" has gone.

Car handles so much better. I will give it a few weeks and then experiment with the compression and rebounds settings to get it how I like it.

The top adjustment is usually a shock out to adjust job. BUT. One small hole in the top mount and I can adjust it from inside the engine compartment.

Well worth the money even if it wasn't under warranty !

Next job is the Gearbox. I do still love my car but am a bit pissed of at the money and time needed to throw at it to get it how it should be.

Touch wood the box is much better now cold and warm. Who knows what has changed but seems ok.

Cobalt , The problem is the rh top bell housing bolts .They are behind the actuator bracket . The turbo has to be removed to gain access. If he will give you a price and stand by it go for it.

What was the original problem, slipping? Mine slips in 2nd and 3dr but then sometimes its ok, dont want to spend a fortune on an easy repair.

Mine's exactly the same. Going in to Audi for an oil change next week.

Does this sometimes work or is it always the sign of a dead 'box?

Thanks, Gray
