RS4 going for service - reconnect exhaust valves ?
Hi Guys,
The Car going in for some work, was wondering if I should bother to reconnect the exhaust valves ? Will they say some b/s about it invalidating the warranty etc. ?
Any thoughts
Cheers

Good question - wondered the same myself
I guess it's simplest to just stick the pipes back on (not even bothering with clips) and then there's no debate to have...

I didn't bother reconnecting mine - the Tech picked it up on the inspection sheet, but no issue was made of it.

RE: RS4 going for service - reconnect exhaust valves ?
I have my car going in on Wednesday so I reconnected things at the weekend. Took all of five mins, but its reminded me how much better it is with the valves open all the time. Although I'm not convinced that the techs at my local place would know what to look for if I hadn't bothered and left it as it was.

Cheers all, being the lazy git that I am, I will leave them and see if they notice...

Left mine off the multiple times it has been back for warranty work, no mention of it from them (yet)

Mines been back twice with the valves being disconnected and no one has ever said anything. I wonder if they will notice the milltek next time

RE: valves
This is a no brainer. Reconnect its takes 2 secs. As sure as eggs are eggs anything goes wrong they will try and portion blame. They may not be able to justify it but is it really worth the agro for 2 secs under the car?
RE: valves
Just for the record, but i'm sure you guys know this, the law has changed which puts an onus of PROOF on a dealer to show that a mod has been the cause of a fault. This is to stop the automatic 'not our problem'.
However, couldn't agree more with ARSEY4 - why wouldn't you make it good for avoidance of hassle?

RE: valves
Just for the record car been in - new front brake pads, and knocking from suspension which mysteriously stopped just before hand. No mention anywhere of the exhaust valves being disconnected...
Re: RE: valves
Why would they mention it? They wont be looking for it. I would wager my left baylock that if you were in for an emmissions light comming on they would notice it!!!!crafty1 wrote:Just for the record car been in - new front brake pads, and knocking from suspension which mysteriously stopped just before hand.
