Post by Vaio » Sat Feb 02, 2008 3:46 pm

Hi guys Im new here, was just wondering if it is possible to stick the 4.2 V8 in the S4, I think that would make the car really something. :D

Thanks for replies.

B5 S4: Doubt it.... not that it wouldn't fit mechanically but the engine bay simply isnt big enough.... any having more weight over the forn may make handling worse...

B6 S4.... I believe it has been done... I think there is a dialinx B6 A4 with an RS6 engine in it....

Welcome BTW ;)
Mark.

I think the rs6 engine would be lighter as it's all alloy not cast steel . Would make a beast of a car .

Thanks for the welcome guys and the speedy replies.

I say this because there is an RS6 that passes my house quite frequently, guy drives like an a**e, only good thing about that though is you get to hear the beast in action. Definitely sounds like something that you shouldn't mess with.

I'd love it if I could find someone who has performed the swap so if any of you guys can remember anything, post away.

Thanks again.

Really speedy reply there, I will need to try and look harder for a project page or something then, just as long as I know it is possible then that is great.

While I am here, is there anyone on here with an S4 to RS4 conversion car, that has undergone buying the RS4 bumpers skirts etc.

I have found 2 or 3 cars on the net that have underwent this but it's always nice to see more :).

Thanks.

grizz I am meaning the general body parts, the engine was the same if I am not mistaken but just more uprated with better bits. I have found a few examples that I will post the links of below for you guys to check out if you haven't already seen them.

quattrokid1 Yeah that was the one a guy known as Siena did over on performancevw or something like that, I didn't like his finished product too much to be honest. The colour was not really my thing and the BBS wheels never beat the good old 9 spoke OEM Audi's.

Here are the links I found, first ones my favourite for those GORGEOUS Recaro seats, still haven't found them online :(.

The seats oooooooo:

EDIT Just so you know, those aren't just B7 seats, there is a slight difference in the design ;).

That's good, Vaio. All down to personal preference, didn't want to use a colour found on a regular RS4.

I considered the new Papaya Orange, as found on the B7 RS4, but looked too flat. So Audi Inca Orange pearl was my choice.

Wheels, again is personal preference. Not keen on the OE-style B5 RS4 items, though I have a set, just for winter use, with 225 tires.

Siena Fancy seeing you around here , yeah I really admired the amount of money you threw at the car but, and the detail was really amazing standard. Such things as colour and wheels you can't please them all as they say, but as long as you love the thing to bits no problems. Excellent conversion overall in terms of attention to detail however. Down to the stickers :).

MarkB Thanks a lot, nice to know that the owner of the site is around for any questions. One other quick question, do you think the 20 inch 9 spoke's found of the Final Edition S8's would fit the S4?

Thanks.
