Yea, after all, the impeller on right turbo (passanger side) was stock with the housing (it doesn`t move), so thats why it wasn`t making any noise and no oil was coming out of the the exhaust and had no boost at all.

Well the thing is I have to buy new turbos and I have three options:

1. Stick with Stage 3 (458 h.p.) MTM and put stock kkk K04 (2078)
2. Go ahead with Stage 4 MTM (490 h.p.) and put MTM turbos kkk k04 (2280)
3. Put Stage 4 MTM but with kkk k04 (2275)


The thing is that MTM turbos cost too much money $3,500 USD each the stock RS4 cost $1,000 each in the states and the 2275 cost $1,600 USD each


I can not find the 2280 kkk Borgwarner turbos anyware except for MTM and I don`t know what is the difference betweem the 2280 vs 2275 vs 2078

Ive got no idea about the difference between the turbos.

I always thought the hybrids MTM use were the K04/RS6 hybrids.
I wasntaware there three varieties of turbo.

I destroyed the exhaust side wheel of my drivers side K04 due to probable overspin. I'm having them rebuilt and using the 997tt ET wheels, which are slightly bigger than the RS6 wheels from Blouch in the US. Only around 800GBP for that.

Well finally I order my new set of turbos k04-2280 4.88 for my RS4, they come with the new stage V that I bought from MTM, now I will have 490 h.p. (361kw) on the engine. I pick this stage because in the stage VI 520 h.p. (381 kw) you have to lower the compression on the engine by putting a 2mm head gasket and to me lower the compression means more turbo lag less power in the bottom end and in top of all the stage V (606 N.M.) has more torque than the stage VI (601 N.M.), well that’s my point of view.


The turbos of MTM real expensive $6,700 USD for both of them.

Well, I´m still waiting for my turbos, MTM doesn´t have them in stock. Borg-Warner is the one that makes de turbos for MTM with a special order. After waiting for 6 weeks ,they say that the turbos are going to be ready in the third week of January 2008, because of the holidays.

The only thing I can do is wait.

Wow! is been 3 months since I place the order (paid 100% of the order) at Joe Hoppen Motorsport in Florida, USA.

thats a long time to wait for turbos.. couldn't mrc get them or make them...?

MTM says that is a special k04 turbo that borgwarner makes for them, in other words you can´t get it from someone else.
