RE: halfway inn .....

Post by rikrose » Tue Jan 15, 2008 1:41 am

I'll be there, if I can make it. The day before I appear to be at a friend's palce, watching all the Kevin Smith films...

Address is:

Bath Rd,
Halfway,
Newbury.
Berkshire.
RG20 8NR.

To find it, ge ton the A4 at Newbury, head out of the town, about 5 miles, maybe a little more past the end of the A34 bypass. There's a few signs with "halfway" written on, and it comes up on your right. It's a white pub. Coming the other way, it's on your left.

It's called halfway, because it's halfway from London to Bristol, aparently.

Google also knows exactly where it is, and the map is correct.

Don't worry. Pub seemed relatively child friendly, and if someone shows up claiming to be you, we won't laugh too much ;)

I was the only S4 owner there last meet - everyone else had an RS4!

Its not the pub aspect I am worried about bringing the little-un (especially these days with no smoking in them). Its the "daddy driving like a loon" on the way there LOL

It had changed hands the last time we were there. They didn't seem to be unhappy with us being there last time, but there was only a few of us. I'll call tomorrow.

Nah. I'll just call and ask if 10 non-rowdy car enthusiasts are welcome.
