Thank you Santa !!

Just picked up my new RS4, replacing a 997. Can't believe i've waited so long to get one - it is absolutely stunning !!

Thought about an M3, for about a second, and about 40 years too young for a merc, so bought the RS4 - and boy, was that the right decision or what.

So , i bet this question has been asked dozens of times before, but how do i configure the car so that the magical 'S' button is permanently 'ON' ??

Congratulations! Enjoy the new car.

Which 997 did you have and how do you find the RS4 in comparison?

Re: the permanent on sport button, it cannot be done through VAG COM. You get the same effect by just disabling the exhaust valve flaps and in addition, much improved noise. I did this 4-5 months ago and I just don't want to reconnect them.

I had a 911(997) Carerra 2 s. The Porsche is a lot more responsive than the \rs4, and is lighter of course, but doing 25,000 miles a year in a 911 is just too much.

But the RS4 has got so much more torque, and sounds fantastic. The V8 is just superb compared to the flat 6.
