Whatever the warnings from above.... good to see that you will be getting out of the hospital soon.

You might need a bit MORE power if they've added some extra metal?

It's surprising how crap the 1997 model A4 is in the Euro NCAP test... still its better than that chinese stuff (its on you tube!) on the Lancer is worse too!

I meant to say... 'on you tube!). Oh and the Mitsubishi Lancer is worse than the A4 too'.

.... new model A6 is good on the Euro NCAP!

Body search anyone?!? Get well soon Al.

It'll be interesting (if scary) to see the pics!

(no, not the pics of you being body searched. Just thought I had better clear that one up!)

OK - the pictures are here. Sorry for the angles and composition - they were taken by family members that are more used to being on the other side of the lens.

Turns out I also fractured my 5th vertebra (lower neck), so it was an even closer call than I originally thought. The fracture shows no signs of instability, so the risk of paralysis is past so long as I avoid activities like being in the front row of a rugby scrum!

The police have submitted the file to the CPA for consideration, so its fingers-crossed for the outcome. Could be anything from no further action to a 12 month ban.

I have some Audi-specific items that I no longer need since I replaced the car with a Lexus RX300 SE-L. I will be putting these in the classifieds as soon as I can, then on eBay if I get no takers. There is a genuine VAG-COM KEY-USB (Rev C) cable, a remote entry key (can be programmed to your car once a new blade is fitted) and a BOSE amplifier (8DO 035 225). If anyone wants first dibs on any of these, PM me with an offer. I'd rather see these sell on the forum than eBay, even if I get less for them.

NB - The BOSE amp has been professionally refurbished by this company and is warrantied.

Yow. That won't buff out. Good to hear that you probably won't wake up paralysed one morning, though, and that you're well ont he way to mending. Finally, as I hope many others would agree, it would be a loss for the community if you didn't continue scanning a few areticles and contributing every so often. One of the things that kept me coming back to the forum in my early days here was the banter betweenm yourself and people like S4TAN and others. The mix of feel and engineering/science, made me more certain about what I was getting in to, and it would be a shame to lose that.

One day I'll get me an RS4 (if I can't afford an R8 ). I've learnt the hard way that public roads are not the place to get the best out of these cars. If/when I get another fast car, it'll be mainly for track use... Yep, a lottery win is what I need!

With a Lotto win I'll probably end up with both!
