No regrets about it. Fantastic car. Only downside is the small fuel tank and thirst but thats expected for the level of performance you get! :)

One thing which I would change is the yellow indicator lenses as my car is an '06 but other than that, it is pretty much perfect for my needs.
Good call!

Only other things i don't like are the armrest/handbrake problem and i would have liked the key hole for the ignition to have a light around it to help find the thing in the dark but that is being very picky!

Had the Car 6 months now 6300 Miles, not had a single problem YET, all updates done, early service @ 4K for piece of mind, the car starts and runs ok from cold and uses little oil.
Daytona is a "Toned down" colour and My car recieves little attention (which I like) the car is the best handling car audi have ever produced and that includes the new S5.
When will it go.......... sometime in the new year maybe ......... what will I get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! don't know yet, may become more main stream and buy something sensible :biggrin2: na can't see it yet. :bigblink:
It's a hard act to follow lots of space and compact to park. C63 AMG................. Na can't see that getting it's power down and horrendous fuel consumption........ :boohoo:

It would be churlish to say I have any regrets, I've owned mine now for 3 months and 5000 miles and its never been irritating and has mostly been very capable for the purpose I use if for (business miles plus some family driving).

However I had hoped by buying the RS4 that it would encourage me to sell my AMG ML63, but three things have stopped me doing so; firstly the ML63 is faster (much quicker in certain gears), its also quieter (I've been a little disappointed how much wind noise arises via the ventilation system) and finally we are unable to use the RS4 on our ski trip next week (because of the probs with fitting snow chains). I also find that whenever we go somewhere as a family that we all want to take the ML, so the RS4 has definitely been beaten as a practical family car - although the good news is that it's helped clarify why I continue to own an SUV.

I partly bemoan not buying the E92 M3, given my original intention to do so, but seeing how many are cluttering up dealerships unsold perhaps that wasn't such a bad idea. Anyway I'm first on the list of the E92 M3 CSL, which is what I really wanted anyway.

I've still got my E46 M3 CSL in the garage, since it still feels very special (and different) to the RS4.

So the RS4 has ended up creating a niche all to itself in my collection of cars. People often ask me why I bought an RS4 (given my history with BMW), and it falls down to four factors;

1) the ride/handling compromise is better than any other car I've driven. The E92 M3 came close with its user-switchable adaptive damping, but the way that my RS4 can cover bumpy crappy roads at speed, remaining undeflected and untroubled whilst still providing a sweet ride is truly impressive

2) I still love the gearchange and how delightful it is to heel-and-toe on every downchange. Again, this seems one of the best systems I've driven.

3) It sounds great with the vales disconnected and the torque curve is so ideally suited for the roads we drive on every day. It really makes overtaking and maintaining swift progress so effortless.

4) Love those bucket seats.

The dilemma I have (which I realise is a nice dilemma to have), is that I've got both an R8 and M3 CSL on the way, and if the RS4 cannot be the family wagon nor the special weekend car, then it will have to be replaced . It will be a difficult decision.

No regrets about driving the car, it is great but disappointed by the need for some warranty work in my 4 months & 4,500 miles of ownwrship (oil cooler leak) and still not sure that the noises on full lock are "a feature" rather than a fault. Previously in the last 4 years had BMW z4MC & 2 E46 M3s none of which had any faults which required a vist to the garage between services. So much for the "legendary" Audi build quality.

It is a pain for me as I live a long way from any dealer.

My RS4 does not make any noises on full lock, so it is 'not' a feature..

only had mine a couple of months, had over 30 cars in the last 15 years and this is the only car i cannot see myself getting bored of, everytime i drive it is suprises me, i love the noise and have "s" permanantly on
its not too in your face but gets the nod or wink from "people in the know"
and occasional shouts of "go on rip it then" from young ens at petrol stations :)

i only do 2 miles a day to work but find myself going the long way, ive never checked the mpg and dont care!, the build is superb not a rattle or creak on mine even though its got sports suspension +

really cant fault it apart from cold starts but i can live with that if the upgrade doesnt cure it, looking forward to summer when i can really appreciate it and get on some nice dry roads 8)

regrets, ive had a few, but not the rs4!!

Had mine for just over a year and done 12K miles. I bought the phantom black (fastest), but may have gone for the sprint blue as the black looks stunning but gets very dirty very quickly.

My only other niggle has been audi stealers - got off to a bad start with my local stealer (which they admitted and compensated me). Now using an alternative dealer which seems to be very helpful.

DoctorD - my local dealer said theres a set of tyres you can get for snow chains which are a size smaller. PM me for rep and dealer if you want some more info).
Everyone is unique, just like you and me.

My sentiments exactly. (Apart from the 30 cars in 15 years bit, that's just insane!)

Well i am getting something totally different. A Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged!
i don't need the car as everyday transport and generally when i drove the Audi recently it was full of family (wife, daughter and dog)so i just fancied wofting around for a bit.

I still have an M5 in the garage should i need to itch that super saloon itch...
Good luck with your cars guys.

3 months in and loving it! Having a Milltek and a remap this weekend, cant wait!! If I drive the car once a week I'm doing well and boy does it make me smile!! I have come from a mapped V10 Touareg and yes that really did have 'all the toys' and power to boot, would I go back..... never. I realized how much I missed driving a proper car. And when you drive a diesel van all day everyday full of tools and a crap radio it really makes me appreciate my RS4

My dealer has been fantastic all round, even with courtesy cars etc. I have had 2 other Audi's both low spec compared to the RS, 3 mercs and my beloved VW but the RS is head and shoulders above all of them and best of all it is so understated and I can get away with telling people when asked I drive a sensible family car - an Audi estate!

Would I change anything, yes of corse, proper keyless entry would be number 1 plus a brace of turbo's to play with! Would I change the car, yes but I cant afford, justify or fit my family in a DB9 ! Maybe in 18 months / 2 years I will bye a nice second hand / ex demo RS6. Until then me and my RS4 are just fine together. Plus I would miss this forum!!!! :kissmyrings: :biggrin3:
